Monday is harvest day in the Hydroponic farm. It might be 100 degrees outside but it is 65 degrees in here.

It's been a busy day on our farm!

Our daughter worked at weighing, bagging, and labeling produce for Travis to deliver.
Milo the Mouse Hunter got tucked in for a nap.
And the horses, Old Willow and Little Joe, had hoof trims from the farrier.

We will be ready and with some new produce this year.

After working with Freight Farm, we finally are starting to get some nice big lettuce heads. This week the grow panels average weight was just above 5 lbs. They need to be around 10 to 11 lbs. We are on the right track now.

Next is to paint base color for the mural.
Finally irrigation is on and the few rows that are planted can start growing. It has been over two weeks since we had any measurable rain.
Next week we will do some transplanting and direct seeding.

Wednesday is transplant day. In 4 weeks these will be harvested.
Pulling a grow panel down to harvest for Monday orders.

Greetings everyone. Welcome to our adventures in Hydroponics!
Our first growing trial of radishes has failed because the ph sensors weren't working properly, therefore kept adding ph nutrients that the plants didn't need.
The company is sending new sensors because our unit is under warranty. Until then, Travis will manually test the ph in the water and if it needs adjusting, the computer system can dose what's needed.
Boy am I glad Travis understands all this stuff! He is planting Salad in the panels today, so wish us luck!🤞We are still learning.

Hello everyone! I made a quick update about the hydroponics unit. Have a great day and happy Halloween!🎃
Today on the farm, Travis completed his final haul of produce from the plot in Odell, for this year, woop woop! And he ran the tractor through our field to clean up manure. Now we can turn our focus onto hydroponics and fancifying up our unit. Willow had her first dose of medicated powder for gastric ulcers in her bowl of feed this a.m. and I pray her appetite will improve.🙏🙏🙏 I just gave her the arthritis injection, along with a handful of treats, and it was nice to see her get a little spunky and playful afterward.😍 Thank you to my husband for meeting the many financial needs of the animals entrusted in our care. I have never known a harder worker or more dedicated soul.💚 Now if only I could get him to help me groom the horses.... 🤪😂 I am still very worried about Willow and am hoping to bring back the treat station to the public by spring. She is really missing her visitors because she always looked so forward to greeting them and being adored. As it should be.😆🩵 We will continue our work and keep our beloved community in the loop!
