Beaker and Blue were not phased at all by the deer walking by. The deer on the other hand were not sure what to think!

It was fun watching Blue play with this treat dispensing device. It was full of grubs and she wasn’t gonna share with anyone (except Beaker).

With the warm days the roof is off the Jeep! The 🐥 decided it was a good playground. Beatrix also found the eggs I had just collected and was trying to figure out how to lay on them.

With our 80 degree summer like fall weather I made frozen treats for the chickens! I used Bundt cake forms and froze fruit in layers! They were a little unsure, but started pecking at it more as it started to thaw.

Meet Beaker!
Beaker hatched March 15th, 2021! He is a Splash Silkie. He is the cutest floof ever! When I took a chicken training class last year we were talking about the best breeds of chickens for training. It was suggested not bantams and not rosters. Well Beaker is breaking all those barriers! He is the first to greet me when I visit the coop. He is super eager to learn and is picking up all the training tasks super fast! He now targets, knows color discrimination, is working on station and tunnel!

Meet Millie!
Millie hatched round March 15th of this year. She is a Mille Fleur Belgian d’Uccle. She was the tiniest of the chicks. She has always been a little skittish, but was always the bravest and would explore new items in the coop first. When I started training she jumped right in….literally. She would jump in the frat cup as I was holding it. She is now the most eager and quickest learner in the coop. She has even learned step up, hangs out in my lap, and lets me pet her.
