BIG THANK YOU to all for your support during 2024! We are a tiny self funded rescue and are proud to live up to our motto “Helping Cats One at a Time”. We want to share what you have helped us accomplish.
😻 Provided over 2,000 hours of Feline Intervention Assistance by phone, text, email, social media and in person to friends, fosters and concerned citizens locally, nationally and internationally (Spain, UK, Mexico, Philippines, Japan). Covered numerous cat scenarios including: trapping and handling feral cats, nutrition, FIV/FeLV and FIP disease education, flea and tick issues, built shelters, administered subQ fluids and meds, cut lots of nails!, rebuilt cat scratchers, cat sitting, visited adopters and our MeowFIA alumni as well as nonMeowFIA cats, fed other folks feral colonies while they were away
😻 Coordinated in conjunction with Worsham Cats Rescue multiple Purina cat litter distributions with over 50 pallets going to 30+ very deserving cat rescues and fosters from NJ, PA, MD, VA, WV, FL
😻 Lent our cat traps to 14 individuals that helped their feral and injured cats get their spay/neuters and medical attention. This resulted in over 30 spay/neuters involving feral and domesticated cats
😻 Introduced a rescue group to a local pet store owner that resulted in multiple cat adoptions at their store including a couple of MeowFIA kitties (Hank & Oliver, Phoebe & James)
😻 Collaborated with a cat rescuer friend to air transport senior kitty Midnight from Miami to Jacksonville Florida to her permanent sanctuary home
😻 Worked with several local cat rescues and rescuers and got over 20 cats including MeowFIA’s cats adopted out to their furever homes and to barns
😻 Matches made in Heaven: searched online and in person with rescues and fosters for potential kitties for folks that contacted us looking to adopt. This resulted in adoptions for Roly, Pinky, Choctaw of Cat’s Cradle rescue, and Lily and Lola and 1 other kitty from Worsham Cats Rescue
😻 Congrats to MeowFIA adopted kitties and their parents: Rusty (aka Raffi), Alexis and David Rose (aka Spot & Lumen), Ranger, Phoebe & James
😻 Met up with new adopters at the pet store and guided them with what to buy for their new fur babies
😻 Used MeowFIA’s social media for feline education, posted about lost cats and dogs, fundraise, promoted our foster cats as well as other rescues’s and individuals’s cats available for adoption
😻 Had 2 major dentals done for foster cats Dewey and Lizzy - thank you donors for $!
😻 Lost pet interventions: Reported lost pet to microchip company, designed, printed and put up flyers for the owners, worked with a professional pet tracking company, used social media for alerts, used our microchip scanner on found cats, and we helped reunite 2 kitties Onyx and Rosie!
😻 Extremely thankful for the donations of money, towels, food/supplements, meds, toys, ornaments, scratching posts, litter, and outdoor shelters which we also shared and gave to cat folks in need.
😻 So thankful for the relationships we maintain with other rescues local and afar including: Worsham Cats, Cats Cradle, Smitty’s Cat Rescue, SOS Cats, Richardson’s Rescue, CityKitty Project/Lost Dog Foundation, Hanover Community Cats, Furever Home, Humane Society of Charles County, Loudon Community Cats, Cat Paws Sanctuary and several individual cat rescuers
