We have always grown our own food as a way of saving money, but with the increasing rise in grocery store prices, we have to be creative in finding ways to save on the foods we don’t produce ourselves.
Bartering is one of the greatest ways we have found to do so! Trading our plants, seeds and produce for honey, meat, eggs, syrup, and homemade cleansing and hygiene products saves us hundreds of dollars per year and facilitates a sense of community as we get to know other local farmers and makers.
This morning, I traded two lemon seedlings for these gorgeous eggs! Breakfast is served 😀
