☀️ Upcoming Dock Diving Introduction Workshop!
The workshop is focused on teaching the skills required to compete in North America Diving Dogs - NADD!

1, Introduction to NADD Equipment, Rules, & Specialties.
2, Introduction to the Dock
3, Swimming Lessons
4, Dry Land Skills (No dock required!)
5, Dock Obedience
6, Dock Jumping Progression

💧 A 50 foot, indoor and heated bromine pool with a regulation length dock will be utilized in this workshop to teach the teams the skills needed to begin their journey in NADD.

⚠️ Dock experience is not required. Swimming experience is beneficial; but not required.

📆 The workshop begins on Friday evening, February 28, and ends on Sunday evening, March 2. The workshop is broken into individual blocks:

Friday @ 6:00 PM = Handler's Course, no dogs. All teams required.

Saturday @ 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM = Swimming Lessons, Block 1
Saturday @ 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM = Dock Diving Foundation Skills, Block 1

Sunday @ 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM = Swimming Lessons, Block 2
Sunday @ 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM = Dock Diving Foundation Skills, Block 2

👉 Requirements for Working Teams:
1, Not nervous or reactive towards unknown people
2, Work with a strange person
3, Follow and consume a food lure
4, Play with toys in busy environments
5, Crate in car or indoor facility. The hosting facility will provide climate controlled crating for those interested.

☀️ Upcoming Dock Diving Fitness Workshop!
The workshop is focused on teaching targeted exercises to achieve bigger jumping distances, higher arch for toy tracking, faster swimming speeds, and stronger cardiovascular strength:
1, Stable & Unstable Equipment Exercises
2, Dry Land & Dock Exercises
3, Swimming Exercises

💧 A 45 foot saltwater pool with a regulation length dock will be utilized in this workshop to teach the teams how to transfer the exercises from ground work to the dock.

⚠️ Dock and swimming experience is required. This workshop is not intended to introduce dogs to swimming or jumping from the dock.

📆 The workshop is 2.5 days, starting on Friday October 11, 2024 & it will end on Sunday October 13, 2024:
Friday October 11 @ 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Saturday & Sunday, October 12-13 @ 9:00am - 5:00pm
Lunch will be provided on Saturday & Sunday

Quest played Lure Coursing and Dock Diving this weekend! He left the event with 2 shiny new titles to add to his alphabet soup of sport performance titles!

He was entered in 3 runs for Lure Coursing and the big guy showed us what his top speed really looks like on Saturday! The best part is hearing him yell the entire time while chasing the plastic bunnies. He received 3 passes under 3 different judges and received his CA!

He was entered in 1 splash for Air Retrieve for Dock Diving and received a Q. His successful grab was 14ft and he only needs one more Q in this division to complete his AS title.

He was entered in 2 splashes for Hydro Dash and received 2 Qs to complete his HDJ title! His times were both 20.012s 🤣 He is not the fastest swimmer but he loves the game!

Kessel made his trial debut this weekend at the Jazzy Paws cluster event and left with his first 2 sport performance titles. He was entered into FastCAT, Lure Coursing, and Dock Diving – and he was spectacular!

FastCAT speed on Friday was 26.7mph. He was only entered into 1 run to finish his BCAT.

He received 3 passes for Lure Coursing under 3 different judges who were all impressed with his speed and spice for the plastic bunnies. He is absolutely obsessed.👹 He was entered into 3 runs and received his CA.

He received 6 total qualifying jumps for Dock Diving. 3 Qs for Junior and 3 Qs for Senior. Distances varied between 13 and 15ft and with a personal best of 16ft! He does not have much experience on a dock which shows in his inconsistent distances but that's a training issue I'll address separately. He showed amazing intensity and drive for the sport. Excited to see where we develop as a team!
