Cat Colony Crusade The CCC's mission is to fix the homeless cat problem, by maintaining the health of the street popula The Cat Colony Crusade is on a mission. Can you blame them?

The CCC wants to fix the homeless cat problem, once and for all. We believe the best way of accomplishing this is by first sustaining individual cats and colonies. This is done by providing sustenance and the necessary veterinary care, to keep these cats healthy. Our trap, neuter, and release program helps to mitigate future generations from ending up in a similarly bleak situation. The second pro

ng of the crusade is to find currently displaced cats a more hospitable environment, in which to live. Some of these felines still have it in them to be a lap cat, while others may never achieve that level of close companionship with a human. The Crusade’s Working Cat Placement Program is based on the idea that every cat is a mouser at heart. Whether it is a barn, a warehouse, a garage, a store, or a home, a Working Cat is a helpful and often required member of the workforce. A Working Cat provides pest control in an environmentally friendly and safe manner, unless you happen to be a rodent. All one need do is be responsible for the care of a Working Cat, and let their well honed skills take care of the rest. The Cat Colony Crusade needs the help of committed and caring individuals and organizations, willing to make a difference in the lives of needy cats. Whether it be helping to maintain a colony, fostering or assisting with first homing one of our superstars, or donating your skills, we welcome your participation. Bringing an end to the homeless cat issue takes a lot of time and effort, so please assist in any way you can. Together we can change the world, one cat at a time.

This week one of the greatest events of all time occurred. Moo found a home. Not only did Moo find a home, she found a great home and a fantastic best friend, Anthony P.
Here are some of the highlights of Moo’s week. For those who follow this page and the chronicles of the many cats that have graced this page, one may observe an important common element of each photo. Moo is the only cat.
Thank God and Anthony P for making this possible.

Anyone still needing evidence that a former feral aka a van Gogh will never be a house cat… meet good old Charlie.
From wild man, who would take some skin off your hand- and did some of mine, to Charlie the house cat.
He moved in with his BFF, George, and has lived happily, peacefully, and spoiledly ever after,
Here is the legend, Charlie.

lol!! Update to post. Spoiled cat. That is not Charlie. That is a picture of Charlie’s blanket, that was custom ordered with his image on it.

Went to visit Momma Vera and her three kittens today. Gave pets all around. Kittens will be eventually available at West Humane in New Rochelle. Momma Vera will be coming back to the CCC(fixed)for a bit more socializing and then she will be available as well.
Please remember that all the great rescues and shelters out there can use dobations and help. Please consider volunteering or fostering. These animals need love and attention, while they wait for their furever home. If not you, who will?

To all- missing cat in New Rochelle. Please keep an eye out for this guy.

For some reason this photo of the brothers, Twinnie and P, reminds me of an old ZZ Top video, where the two bearded gents turn their heads and point at the ZZ Top vintage car, as it drives away. I think it was the video for Legs, but I am not sure. This is the closest image I found.
Yay for the brothers and their loving furever home.

Working with Momma Vera. Seems only a week ago Vera was trapped and grave birth. Actually, it was only a week ago. Vera came in feral, but has been coming along quite well. She has been courteous enough to take time away from her motherly duties to let me get in a few good pets and chin rubs.

✂️✂️✂️Fix them all regardless of s*x! ✂️✂️✂️

Males are just as important as females. However, we wanted to share an infographic to help you identify possible female cats by their coat color.

Cats with three colors in their coat are female. If you find a male he’s extremely rare! (1 in 3,000)

If you see a calico or tortoiseshell cat, make sure you get her fixed quickly. Remember, if you trap a cat no matter the color, get it fixed, or you may never trap that cat again.

From holding crate to maternity ward.
Vera was involved in a local TNR program.
This not ao little lady was brought in on a Saturday night. Sometime between 9pm on Sunday night and 4am Monday morning, she fortunately gave birth in a heated and lined cage. Imagine what her Sunday night may have been like, if she were still on the street.
We need a large scale TNR program to be implemented properly and not become just another cash cow for politicians and their friends and family network, or some large scale not-for-profit, who will drain the program’s resources for their own purposes.

Only a month ago, the kitty on the left would have been considered very feral.
Hazel was more of a flying squirrel than a kitten.
With a little work at the CCC and a bit of love in her new home, she has become just another calm and loving house cat. Allegedly sleeping next to her new dad, Tommy, whenever she gets the chance.
Here the new siblings are watching a snowstorm from the safety and warmth of their home. They are actually looking out over the street in Morris Park they were rescued from. Their dad, Tommy, was kind and compassionate enough to give them their forever home.
Thanks to all involved in getting these two to such a place.

Hooray for cooperation!!!
Silkie was adopted today.
Silkie went from being trapped with her sister in Morris Park, to the CCC and to Doc Moyer at the Briarcliff Animal Hospital to get checked out.
Then to a program to have him fixed up, and then to NY Pet Rescue’s vet for one more round of tests. And then to NY Pet Rescue.
Finally, the Silkster was adopted today.
(Sorry, without permission I would not display this lovely adopter’s beautiful face, but there is Silkie!!What a handsome guy!) I am happy to see his Teddy and kitten followed him. Both were given to him the day his sister was adopted and he was feeling blue.

Happiness is all around!
My friend adopted that cute little guy on the floor, Noel.
He just could not help himself, so he adopted a friend. Now he has two happy rescue cats and a tremendously more entertaining and warm home.
Thank you to MaryAnn M for getting the ball rolling by rescuing and homing Noel. Yay for happy cat endings.

Sage update.
Looks like another feral is continuing to prove the naysayers wrong.
Mr. Sage has not only adapted from a community cat to his new digs and person, but he has made peace with a very vocal dog, who had territorial rights to the home.
Sage was quoted as describing his new pal as, “like having a warm and furry pillow with a built in alarm.”
Yay for everyone!

One may not be able to see the well camouflaged cat in the background, but that is Belle. Belle is a bully.
But yesterday, Belle hurt her rear leg. She seems to be having a lot of trouble walking. She has already been to the vet, so hopefully this will work itself out.
The main part of the story is the tuxedo in the front. That is Soxie. Soxie is a rescue and is very timid.
However, this timid thing takes it in stride when Belle chases her. She is often trying to be Belle’s friend, while Belle continues to attempt to bully her.
Since Belle has come home from the vet, Soxie has been extra brave, standing guard and keeping her friend safe from the world, while she recovers.
Hopefully, Belle will remember the kindness, when she is back to being herself, and feels like chasing a well-dressed little lady around the house.

This morning it was concluded that we have two fantastic and sweet cats up for adoption. This is Dusk. Named for her dark Torty color. She is beautiful!!
She is probably under a year, based on available evidence. She has been fixed, has her first shots, has been treated for parasites and is FIV and Leukemia negative. She was brought in for TNR and seemed a bit feral when trapped, but maybe ahead just did not want to be trapped. Here ahe is loving pets and attention and putting away.
Please message me if interested in this beauty. I will post photos as well.

The Working Cats Program: Finding a Job and a Home in the Charlotte, NC area.

⚠️We have 2 adult cats looking for a job and a home. Their current outdoor home is being demolished, so a new working cats home is needed!!!

They are experienced mousers seeking full-time employment and lodging at your barn, warehouse, garden, vineyard, brewery, or winery.

You provide food, water, shelter, yearly vet care, and love from a far.

If you'd like to adopt a pair of working cats, please fill out our online form on our website - www.friendsofferalfelines.org/contact and state you're interested in adopting working cats OR send us a direct message.

*We don't recommend relocation, but at times, it's necessary for safety reasons. We also prefer that you adopt 2 working cats so the cats have a friend. You'll need to be within 40 miles of Charlotte, NC to adopt.

❗️Cats being relocated need at least a 3 week acclimation period as they learn about their new home. We will provide all those details if you're interested in adopting working cats. There are website links about the acclimation set up in the comments section as well.

Feline Fact Friday ...

What is TNVR (aka TNR)? -- Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, & Return

This process is the most humane way to help unowned community cats live healthier lives and lower the number of kittens being born outside, which decreases the outdoor cat population (and ends suffering!!!)

Spaying and neutering cats also decreases nuisance behaviors such as roaming, fighting, yowling, and spraying, which makes these cats better neighbors in the community.

⚠️ Please make sure that any cat (pet or community) you are feeding is spayed, neutered, or TNVRed.

Reach out to us for more information about TNVR if you're located in and around Charlotte, NC.

The CCC needs to give special thanks to Jennifer, Andrea, and Sharon, for being there to lend a hand and help to keep cats happy, socialized, and fed. This thing of our’s could not move forward without your assistance. Thank you!!

Tonight while trapping, we brought in a handsome cow print Tom. What a doll. He was meowing in the trap and then when I transferred him into a holding cage, he began to rub against the door of the cage.
I took a chance and opened the cage and touched his nose. He immediately went into turn arounds to get pet. He is not fixed, so who knows. He is going Saturday to get fixed up. I will post pics tomorrow.
If anyone is looking for a handsome cow print Tom, I know where one may be had.
