Something to keep in mind for prone dogs (long/dense fur but all dogs can get them) 🐾
My battle with Endometriosis is still ongoing, I had a successful meeting with my consultant and now I’m on a waiting list for surgery - hopefully within the next 12-18 months.
I do not take sick days off without a lot of decision, because I know it affects you as my clients and your pups.
This week is emotionally hard and whilst I’m not in a pain flare up as normal, I am in a horrific nauseas & sickness one instead.
I am planning on coming back tomorrow, and working through this
Unless it lays heavy walks are going ahead today
Merry Christmas everyone!
Thank you for the gifts for myself and family.
Happy Christmas to all my clients and your pups!
My thoughts when I’ve got Spaniels off lead 😂
I do keep a visual on all pups - even spaniels hiding in woods somehow!
Love seeing puppies progress ❤️
This was Elmo’s first time off lead with me and in true spaniel fashion he was off sniffing, but came back when called
Like humans, it’s important to give dogs breaks between ball chasing.
It gives the dog a chance to recover, before continuing either their walk, or their running.
Todays pups checked and back inside keeping cool 🐾
Using a damp towel or blanket is a great way to help cool dogs down.
And if they’re like Guinny, they can also lick it to cool down 🙈
I soaked this at about 8.30am in water, and it was still cool tonight so just re soaked it ahead of bed.
Tips
- don’t use a freezing cold or dripping wet towel.
- don’t keep it on them for a prolonged time, as their body temperature will heat it up.
What happens during a Welfare Check?
Basically your pups get let out into their garden, and have time to play, and do their business as needed.
During the hot weather, many walks may be changed to this purely to keep your pups cool and safe.
Muzzles aren’t just for dogs who may act aggressive, they can also be used to help dogs protect theirselves from eating anything that could harm them like rocks and glass.
A rainy Tuesday today but these pups didn’t mind 🐾
All new treats have to get taste tested, of course 😂
If Guinny likes them, then most dogs will
I’ve been working with this boy for 6, 1 hour long walks, and his owners have already noticed a difference!
Like a typical lab, this boy is headstrong and loves to pull.
So I give him 30-40 minutes of long line fun where he spends the whole time tracking and running, then we work on some short line training.
By simply standing still if he pulls, I wait for him to look up at me, and if he doesn’t, we change direction and walk the other way until he does. Once he looks, we carry on walking the same way.
With the opposite direction, it’s distracting him from whatever it was he was wanting to pull too, and also he knows there’s a treat if he does well!
With all dogs I do a basic bit of training such as ‘sit’ at a path before crossing, and ‘touch’
‘Touch’ is where I say the word and put a hand down. The dog runs up and touched it with the nose or paw, and carries on. This is giving the dog a chance to check in, and helps to keep them close if needed.
I’ve noticed most dogs will stare and walk by me if I put my hands in my pockets, and will actually sustain this for a fair while even without a treat!
Quick recap of some clients of January!
Got a couple new clients added for February, and maybe more to come in the future ❤️

You can then book as many slots as you want, and I will send your invoice at the end of the month.
‼️ If you’re booking the 2 dog slots, please just ✅ 1 dogs name otherwise it quotes double the price 🙈 ‼️
You can still message me to book if you don’t want the app.
Somehow I think Guinny doesn’t want to join me on walks today 😂
Tough buddy, raincoat on and out you go
