Thank you 2023 for everything to do with my sheep.

⭐️This year highlights include ⭐️

⭐️ Re-establishment of the badger face texel flock.
⭐️ Establishing my blue texel flock.
⭐️ Spotties growing from 25 to nearly hitting 100.
⭐️ Opportunities to buy super stock from Ireland, The UK, Belgium and Holland.
⭐️ Super show success at the shows we attended.
⭐️ Gaining support and making lots of new friends.
⭐️ Breeding some super lambs.

Thank you too all who have made the above possible and I look forward to seeing what 2024 brings.

I’d like to take the chance to thank all the buyers and underbidders who have brought from me this year.

Also a thank you to the breeders who I have also brought some super stock from in the UK, Holland and Belgium.

So today I spent some time capturing some photos of the in lamb girls, very lucky to own some super stock and I thought I would share some of them with you all ❤️😍

As some may know there has been a confirmed case of blue tongue virus in the Canterbury area which is very close to where my animals are kept.

Please please please be vigilant of the symptoms..

Signs of bluetongue in sheep include:

⚫️ Ulcers or sores in the mouth and nose

⚫️ Discharge from the eyes or nose and drooling from mouth

⚫️ Swelling of the lips, tongue, head and neck and the coronary band.

I have given my sheep a dose of Cypermetherin today as my friends in Holland and Belgium have advised me the midge does not like this, it won’t cure it but if it helps then it helps.

As promised!

The lads.. For the first two we have.. Fargo and Falcon.

They both combine my favourite attributes of the Dutch Spotted breed, height, length and width. They are full of natural muscle and not pushed. Both also have an excellent easy going nature, which is also vital.

I’m looking forwards to seeing there lambs in 2024!

Quiet but busy behind the scenes at Laurelle HQ..

Ewes have mostly been tupped by a various combination of tups who I’ll post about over the next few days.

The ewe and ram lambs are all growing on well and we are slowly gearing up for lambing and keeping everyone healthy and for happy healthy lambs for 2024.

Very busy behind the scenes here at Laurelle HQ!

The rams have now gone off to work with the Spotties and my blue texel shearling. I will be keenly awaiting to see what lambs we have in the early part of next year! 😁

This years lads are.. Balblair, Fabian, Falcon, Dutch, Enrique and Hilux!

Busy but exciting times await!

Bert the teaser ram is now in with the ladies and soon it’ll be time to choose the perfect pairings. We hope for lots of healthy, happy ewes and lambs!

Team Laurelle absolutely smashed it out of the park at Kent County Show with super strong classes up against Bleu Du Maines and Charolais in AOB classes.

2nd out of 11 with my own home bred ewe lamb Laurelle Glitzy Lass! 🖤🤍

2nd out of 13 in the shearlings with the wonderful Feverfew who was second to the overall sheep supreme champion.

2nd & 3rd out of 10 with the aged with class with Echo and Ria!

4th for Struie Flying Dutchman in the shearling ram class!

What a super show and thank you super team! ❤️

A little quiet on the page lately but plenty has been going on in the background!

We have been quietly preparing the team ready ahead for the next show ahead which is Kent County show.
The shearling ewes have all been vaccinated with Toxo and Enzo vac to protect them from aborting.
The lambs have had there last heptavac and shortly the last bunch will be weaned. They are all growing on very well.

All busy but the hard work is paying off and the name is getting out there 🖤🤍

Really strong competition and great competitors.

So it’s been quiet here but all busy behind the scenes!
The adults have been sheared and feeling in top form again!
The lambs are growing on tremendously well and there’s certainly a few catching my eye as we gear up ready for the show season! ❤️🤍🖤

Beautiful girl Drop Dead Gorgeous (import) is now on her summer holidays having weaned her lambs today.

What a super job she has done for me with her two daughters Laurelle Glamour and Gorgeous.

Time for a well earned rest for her now until she meets her chosen husband for this years breeding!

What a lovely day to start turning everyone back out after all the horrible weather we’ve had recently.
Here’s some of the ewes and shearlings turned out onto some new grass today!

Hopefully they storm on the new grass and the show team sheep will be looking super, ready for the season ahead!

Beautiful with, beautiful without. Redgate Katy my Zwartbles shearling clipped ready ahead for the show season!

I have also had a name change with the Dutch Spotted Flock to “Laurelle” as I wanted something more personal to me, so the sheep are still mine just flock prefix has changed and I will continue to keep getting my name out there and working hard.

Laurelle is a combination of both of my names! ❤️

Busy weekend of moving the shearlings and ewe lambs back home and these two girls lambing.

One ewe and ram lamb for Merryboro Eliza and One huge ram lamb and good sized ewe lamb for True View Elsie!

These lambs are by Lane Farm Epitome moon who has one more ewe due to him In the coming weeks before we see Windrush Ferocious’ three ladies lamb too.

On the final countdown now, last 3 spotties should lamb in the next three weeks and one Zwartbles too!
