Hi I’m Scarlett and this is Finley my rescued mutt💜

I haven’t officially introduced myself for all the new people on my page so here it is!

Working with dogs and all animals have always been a passion of mine and I am very happy and thankful that I have gotten to make this my full time job.

Thank you to all my current clients for trusting me with your pups, it’s not easy leaving your pets with other people especially if they’ve had a bad experience at another grooming salon. But seeing a dog thrive is why I do what I do! I’m here to answer all your questions and help you feel at ease when you bring your pups to me

This also goes hand in hand with another passion of mine: opening .markham where your dogs can live their life freely! Literally flying through our huge outdoor space 😂

It seems to always be shedding season!!

As climate change gets worse, I’ve noticed the shedding has gotten out of control as well. The unpredictable weather has been confusing their natural coats, sometimes it gets really hot out but the next week it’s chilly!

Dogs usually molt twice a year:
1. Early Spring to get ready for their thinner Summer coat
2. Late Fall to get ready for their thicker Winter coat

But lately it’s been nonstop shedding and molting! All we can do is try to keep up with the insane brushing to help them get comfy, impacted hair that doesn’t get brushed out can cause matting and irritation.

Global warming (now called global boiling) effects all humans and animals and it’s just getting worse 🥲

Late Fees!

I have been very generous with people picking up their dogs late but now I feel like it’s being taken advantage of.

I operate as one on one, which means I book my appointments as scheduled to have enough time in between grooms so dogs do not meet. I always give a rough estimate of how long the groom will be so if i quote 1.5 hours, please don’t drive to Newmarket to go shopping and then come 40 minutes late.

If you have a timing conflict, please at least give me a heads up before hand, I know things come up and there’s traffic but those things are also out of my control so give yourself extra time.

So from here on out I will be implementing a strict late fee charge to avoid constant repeats!

To add to that, if you are over 15 minutes late for your appointment especially with no heads up it will be considered a no show and will have to pay a fee before next appointment.

Ensuring the safety of my clients (physically & emotionally) is my main concern, I do not want to put a dog in a situation if they are not comfortable being in another dogs space.

We will be doing on the spot nail trims, OW wild spray for sale, having a raffle, there to answer all your grooming questions but most of all we are super excited to meet all the pups!

There will be all things dog related, tons of vendors with a mix of grooming, dog treats, trainers, daycares, dog accessories and many many more so be sure to stop by.

I’ve know Kato for many years now and even tho he is 13, he is still the sweet big baby I’ve always known 😅

Look at how much younger he looks with all that undercoat blown and brushed out

He now looks and feels his best!

Spring & Summer is here in full blast and the critters are all out now!
What to do if your dog gets sprayed by a skunk?

‼️DO NOT BATHE THEM‼️
Soaking them in water will spread the oils around and soak into their skin. This will cause them to be irritated and stinky for a longer period of time.

If you cannot find a grooming professional to do this in time, this is remedy that has worked for me:

1/4 cup of baking soda
3 teaspoons of dawn dish soap
4 cups of peroxide

1. Create a paste foaming mixture of the 3 ingredients
2. Lather mixture onto the dog and work well into the coat
3. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes
4. If sprayed around the eyes, use a washcloth for the face
5. Rinse with warm water
6. Repeat if needed
7. Follow with a skunk/deodorizing shampoo

Always keep an eye on your dog after it’s been sprayed by a skunk, irritation can occur especially around the eyes and face! It can take up to 6 months for the smell to go away and every time they get wet (rain or swimming) you will smell it a bit more.

I currently do offer an emergency skunk bath option where I will try my best to fit you in asap!

Jonsey puppy came in for his first groom with his older brother, I let him wander and watch as I groomed Kai first so he can see how everything went.

He was a very good boy and did 12/10 for his bath, dryer, brushing & nails!

Spring is here🌷
and that means so is all the shedding…

Most dogs blow out their coat in the early Spring and in the Fall but the shedding never really ends😅

Make sure to brush your dogs undercoat out to get them ready for Spring and Summer so that their hair doesn’t get impacted which can cause a number of issues!

Oliver here feels much better with all that undercoat brushed out, he’s now all ready to tackle the warm weather💙
