Must be the year of the conures! In today are Emmy, a possible mitred hybrid 26 years old, and Punkin, a sun hybrid 18 years old. Like all new birds, they need time to settle in and see the vet before they can be available for adoption. They are not a bonded pair, and we believe Emmy doesn't like other birds.

Tommi and Loki got chased by crows and seagulls miles from our early morning flight location today which was a mile from our village (thank you to the many people offering to travel to me to find them 🥹) but somehow they managed to navigate their way back to our village AND stay together! So proud of them for working out how best to be found, they could have easily continued off into the horizon and been missing in an entirely unknown town. At one point they stopped off at some stables to say hi to the horses, before continuing on their journey back home. The owners grabbed this picture. As stressful as this was, they did really well to navigate the endless fields and work out how to get home from several miles away!

These birds is very intelligent, but need daily socialization and stimulation so that they stay tame. Hyacinth macaws get bored quite easily, so they should be provided with plenty of toys to play with, in addition to near-constant attention from their owners.

The turquoise parrot (Neophema pulchella) is a species of parrot in the genus Neophema native to Eastern Australia, from southeastern Queensland, through New South Wales and into North-Eastern Victoria. It was described by George Shaw in 1792. A small lightly built parrot at around 20 cm (7.9 in) long and 40 g (1+1⁄2 oz) in weight, it exhibits sexual dimorphism. The male is predominantly green with more yellowish underparts and a bright turquoise blue face. Its wings are predominantly blue with red shoulders. The female is generally duller and paler, with a pale green breast and yellow belly, and lacks the red wing patch.
