Our Kemps Creek shelter is full to the brim with beautiful cats in need of foster homes! 🐈 Here are just a few of them! 🐈‍⬛

Some of our cats are recovering from medical issues, some are too young to be adopted and some just need a break from the shelter. 🏠💕

Giving animals time in a loving home can do them wonders! No matter how hard we work to keep our animals happy and stimulated, a shelter is never quite a home. 💔

Today, the last Friday in April, is National Hairball Awareness Day!
If your fur baby is prone to hairballs, then why not offer them their favourite remedial treat on a LickiMat®.
According to PetMed, some suggestions to save your carpet and keep those hairballs moving are:

🐱 Add a teaspoon of olive oil or melted butter to your cat's food once a week.
🐱 Provide your cat with a small amount of canned tuna or sardines occasionally.

Posted • Use it up, help halve food waste and make your pets yummy treats😋😋😋
reports that 7.6 million tonnes of food is wasted in Australia each year.
So before you throw away leftovers, think if you could use them as a LickiMat® topper.
1. Natural yogurt. Scrape out the last drops out of the tub. A small amount is enough to make a long lasting treat or add to fruit and veges.
2. Save leftover roast meat from the plates, and pick the meat you wouldn't eat off the carcass. Blend with yogurt or other pet safe liquids to make a spreadable pâté.
3. Keep leftover veggies like pumpkin. Squash with a fork or blend and make into a topper. You can also mix with yogurt.
4. Overripe bananas festering in the fruit bowl? Perfect! Pop them in the freezer to use later.
5. Leftover herbs like mint are great in e.g yogurt as a yummy breath freshening treat. So keep those limp leaves in the freezer and don't bin.

Make sure your food choices are safe for your pet.

These two ❤️ their raw food and we like switching things up on them too, like how we offer it. are a great way to add variation to a meal.

These mats are great for both the dogs and cats and are beneficial in many ways but one that I will focus on is dental health! Lickmats benefit through the act of licking by cleaning their gums and teeth, as they create more saliva which in turn helps battle bacteria in the mouth. The more saliva the less cavities. This also helps their breath!! The little grooves on the mat also clean off particles on the tongue 👅

Not that you need another reason to buy something for your fur kid 😉
