A little blurry because I was being lifted by an overly ambitious snuggle, but look at my Howdy boy’s SMILE! He and Bella have adjusted to life in Tennessee like champions and it makes me SO happy to see them so happy. They still get the zoomies every night, and frolick the pastures just like I imagined them doing when Adam and I first saw this property. I knew at that moment this is where we belonged. For those of you who are curious, Howdy and Bella are livestock guardians and I spent three painstaking years training them to pull carts and farm implements. Both of them absolutely love to work, Howdy comes alive in his harness in a way I never otherwise see. Howdy is a bit mischievous and is often the instigator of some very amusing shenanigans. Bella has a soft spot for the young animals, and is always the first to befriend a new flock member. Donkeys have a bad rap for being stubborn, and they can be, but it’s not because they have a mean streak like people assume, it’s because they are extremely cautious. Earn a donkey’s trust and respect, and they will do anything you ask. Training Howdy and Bella has been one of the most rewarding processes of my life. Donkeys are dogs that live for 40 years. They are loyal and trainable and love to snuggle and will fiercely protect those they are bonded to. They regularly run off coyotes, bobcats and foxes. I can’t wait to grow old with these guys by my side.

Guess who’s TWO?! 🥳
All I ever wanted were two little brown/gray jennies.
I’ll never forget the day Jax was born. I had been waiting so very impatiently for that text. 😂 “A little brown/gray jenny was born!”
That text didn’t come two years ago today. Instead, it said, “A little paint jack.” 🤪
Well, I did end up getting that little brown jenny I always dreamed of, but I also got a donkey that I had never dreamed of. JAX. 😬
Oh Jax. Bad hooves. Sensitive skin. Random ailments. A strong, wild temperament. And one hell of a personality. 🤣
Jax has definitely given me more wrinkles & white hair in two years than I would have ever imagined. But boy, do I love him. I love him SO much. I would do anything for him. Anything.
Jax has taught me patience. He’s taught me how to love through hardships. And you better believe he’s taught me the importance of always watching your back. 💀 Always keep your head on a swivel y’all. 😅
But really. Jax. You are loved. I give you a hard time. But you are loved. You make us laugh (& cry) on the daily. 😂 I hope you’re happy. Because you’re stuck with us. Because tbh, I don’t know who else would put up with you & your shenanigans.

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my baby girl Josie! 😍💕
I am so lucky to be this one’s mama. Not a day goes by that I’m not grateful for her presence in my life.
Josie kind of reminds me of… well, a cat. It took quite a while for me to earn her trust. Her love. For her personality to really shine. And it makes my relationship with her that much more meaningful.
There is no greater feeling than when people I hold dear to my heart get to experience my girl. Her sweetest. Her love.
And while I feel incredibly inadequate to be her mom at times, I do not take the responsibility lightly.
All I want is for my little ones to feel loved.
Happy.
Safe.
Secure in my care.
It’s really all I could ever hope for.
Happy 2nd Birthday Josie. My baby girl is no longer a baby anymore. 🥹☺️
