Cat Action Trust 1977 Nuneaton & Hinckley We are a registered charity dedicated to the health and welfare of feral and stray cats. The charity is totally against killing for expediency.

CAT 1977’s policy is to help feral cats by limiting their numbers through neutering and returning to site, by providing veterinary care where necessary, and by finding homes for kittens and tame stray cats. CAT 1977 also helps to educate the public and other animal welfare organisations about the humane control and care of the feral cat population through its website, newsletter and leaflets. Fera

l cats are the descendants of lost or abandoned domestic (“tame”) cats. Because they have not been handled by humans as kittens, they grow up as if they are wild animals and are wary of humans. They are therefore invariably extremely difficult to handle, and specialised equipment is needed to trap and restrain them without injury to the cat, the trapper, or the vet. Cats are extremely efficient reproducers. Large groups of feral cats (colonies) very soon build up and are found in numerous environments, such as parks, hospital grounds, factory premises and the gardens of private houses. Uncared for and allowed to breed unchecked, the life of a feral cat is short, miserable and full of suffering. However, once neutered, and if there is some shelter and a reliable food source available, feral cats can live long and healthy lives.

This beautiful 7 month old girl is ready for adoption!
Born to a feral Mum, she has blossomed into a lovely kitten.

✅ I am spayed, but not yet microchipped (the charity will cover my costs for this)
✅ I love to play!
✅ I am up to date with flea and worming treatments
✅ I can live on my own or with other cats
✅ I am in foster care with dogs, but am a little bit shy when they are a bit excited

💔 Rest in Peace, Mavis (aka Scruff) 💔

This morning, our sweet feral girl Mavis (affectionately known as Scruff) suffered a sudden catastrophic seizure. Only hours before, she had seemed in excellent health, and we don’t know what caused it. We rushed her straight to the vets, but sadly, despite every effort, she couldn’t be stabilised, and we had to say goodbye 😔

We’re heartbroken. Mavis had been waiting for placement, and though she was a little rough around the edges, we truly loved her. We really did try to help her, and we’re so sad to have lost her.

A huge thank you to Bozzles Ark Vets for seeing us at a moments notice and for being so kind, sympathetic, and compassionate with Mavis. Your care meant the world.

Sleep tight, Mavis. You were loved, and you’ll be missed. 🐾🌈💔

This boy followed a family home from the centre of Barwell last night.
He has no microchip and is either neutered or too young to be developed.
He does have a collar, but is very tatty.
