Grateful for another opportunity to share the love of Jesus and the challenge of the sport and the animals we love. New York. Unknown territory to a small town southern girl raised in the Bible Belt USA. But you know....God is everywhere.

No matter where we go....it's not just about what we know....it's about WHO we know. In many different forms....it's really all about the HEART.

💜About hearing the heart of The Father thru His Word.
💜About hearing the heart ofl the broken...in spite of their words.
💜About seeing and feeling the heart of the horse when they have no words.

Sunday at the clinic was Mother's Day. One of the greatest gifts a Mother has is that she "hears her child's heart" ....not just sees the obvious. It's also why Motherhood is so hard.

Hard to find words to explain how God works in the midst of these clinics. Can a group of Barrel racers see transformation in their life AND barrel racing in one weekend? They can if they come with that purpose. But even if they don't know exactly why they come... They show up....and God shows off. And I'll never get tired of watching it.
The question of the weekend was " How can I hear God speak to me?" I guarantee they heard Him before it was over . Out loud.
Just ask any one of them. Just like God is speaking into our world right now in a way that is undeniable.
" Just To Clarify".
" Can you hear me now?"
.....God.

Just a simple picture from a beautiful....ordinary.....day...made me remember "why" I always loved a life with horses.

And I also remember what makes us forget that "why".

It's been a year of heartache and vet bills and overwhelming expenses. A year of injuries and more questions than answers. A year of physical and mental anguish and a really loud voice that screams "Why are we doing this?"

💜Then I look at that picture and remember the gift of a life of a little girl and her horse.
💜The life of a Mom and a daughter who share the same passion .
💜I think of all the arenas I rode around talking with a friend who became a friend for life.

It was never about barrel racing.

It was just about living an ordinary... extraordinary life...
with those ordinary and extraordinary animals who teach us more than we ever teach them.

So what...at this point in my life... am I fighting for?

As usual for me....the words to a song started to play in my head. 🎶🎶 Remember ( you old people) those little boxes on the table in restaurants that you put a quarter in and a song started playing? My brain is like that.
Only I don't have to pay for it....it just starts with a thought.....( And songwriters just say things so much better)

Another GOOD GROUND clinic in the books.
When God put this "clinic thing" on my heart I had no idea what it would look like. But He did. And His work is so much better than ours.
I thought it would just be talking about barrel racing and Jesus....and it is....but so much more.
It is about the one who feels lost...
The one who feels different....
The one who needs hope...
And I thank God for that ONE that shows up .

Dena Kirkpatrick Teri George Lacy Schoenthal and I have such gratitude for the gift of who He sends and the opportunity and assignment He has given us.

I know we are not worthy but He is...
And that's all we need.

CLINIC IS FULL.....but there is unlimited room for auditors. Auditing includes listening in on all arena work and meetings as well as meals.

I was taught in my very early years of horse training ....which also applies to life.... that 2 things that would destroy your training
( and you) were FEAR and CONFUSION.

💜GOOD GROUND BARREL CLINIC AND
SPIRITUAL RETREAT 2022💜

Before this clinic started I said "I want to get more pictures this time"....which I promptly forgot. But there is really no picture that can explain what always happens when you have a purpose and God is right in the center of it.
I trained and rode barrel horses most of my life....and Dena Kirkpatrick and I have been friends for 30 yrs and I still learn something every time. You know the old saying: "Those who can "do" and those who "can't" teach.?
Well in some cases there are a rare few who exceed in both areas. Dena is one of the special ones.

And I don't know know why I am still amazed at a God who comes and works with us and thru us in ways that are so out of the box we put Him in. Rarely enough....I am at a Loss for words.. All I can say is "Thank you Lord".

Special Thanks to my Lacy Schoenthal for being the behind the scenes help for making this happen. What would I do without someone to ask every 5 minutes...." What did I do with my "phone "?? Seriously...you are my gift that keeps on giving.

And to Dena's sister (and my friend) Teri George for offering yourself and your knowledge of the little things that make a big difference to all of us.

And to the participants in this clinic who had the courage to come...when they felt led to do so.....with open hearts and open minds.
