Fun Fact!

Did you know that often times when dogs have p**p accidents in the house and they do it in a hidden room or a corner away from the general living areas? It’s not because they’re trying to be sneaky and hide it from you. It’s because their mothers taught them appropriate play and distinctive potty areas early in those first few weeks of life. A good mother dog will teach her pups to differentiate between their play area and potty area. So don’t get mad at your dog when they p**p in another room. They’re not doing this to be sneaky or naughty, if anything be “mad” at yourself for not knowing the signs that they needed to go out and be more diligent about regularly, taking your dog out. If you’re struggling with this, I can help.

About me!

Hi my name is Kristine. I am passionate about all dogs. I have loved dogs my whole life. Growing up we had a few golden retrievers and I liked to teach them tricks! Silly things like shake and roll over and found it to be exhilarating fun for both the pups and myself. It was then that a fire started in my heart. I fell in love with dogs and loving the ability to teach them things. I started a dog walking business at age 12 and met my first “bad dog” a beautiful Akita that was strong and had a scary “mean” growl. What I didn’t realize was the dog was actually giving submissive grins and wasn’t a threat at all if I had earned his trust and shown him that I wasn’t going to hurt him. Needless to say I politely told the owner I wasn’t sure I was a “good fit”. Lol. Fast forward to a few years and an opportunity to rehabilitate a truly scared/aggressive dog came up. A young female border collie who attempted to bite me when I went to spring her from her hot outdoor kennel to freedom in a warm loving home. I took her to the vet and she behaved in a similar and threatening manner attempting to bite the staff anytime they came near her. I was advised to “keep her away from children” and “best to eauthanize her”….but…something about this dog when I looked into her beautiful brown eyes told me to give her a chance. I took her home and started the process of earning her trust. It wasn’t even a month and she was steady, kind, and safe near the children supervised of course. She turned out to be an amazing and sweet family dog and given the opportunity to thrive in a balanced and loving home hasn’t growled or snapped since. This was life changing for me and I realized that there a very few really “bad dogs” but plenty that are misunderstood and needing more love, trust, structure, play, and balance in their life. Since then I have had the opportunity to train a service dog. A mature female beagle who came to me not even knowing how to sit and was not potty trained. Rylee had been living in a car when her owner found himself on hard times and without a home. I acquired rylee as a pet and realized that she had the natural ability to notice when I was experiencing cardiac/syncopal episodes. I have a condition called dysautonomia, also known as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. I started shaping her alerts and within 6 months she was task trained and obedience trained well enough for public access. Rylee has been my personal service dog now for just over a year and I’m so grateful for her and have grown so much in my training knowledge with her. This past July I met a three year old border collie named Tide. Tide was living on a farm and spent hours and hours racing back and forth on a dog run line. He was frantic, spastic, unfocused, and nippy. He wasn’t being used on the farm to herd wich is what he was originally intended for and I asked if I could have him. To my delight his owner said yes! I had an idea for him. He was perfect for my teen daughter. She spent an hour with him and we saw sparks of love and trust between this dog and his ”new” friend. Tide wasn’t perfect by any means. He was a bit reactive, unsure, unfocused, and needed a lot of work put into him. I was up for the task though and so the next month I flew back to California with Rylee and shipped Tide back on the airplane with us in cargo. He has been home with us for less than two weeks and the frantic/feral dog is a totally different dog. He’s calm, happy, and learning quickly. He now knows sit, lay down, come, off, wait, and hug. He’s learning orbit now and it’s so much fun to see him using his energy in a positive and productive way instead of the crazy and uncontrollable way he was previously. We are seeing him blossom into a happier dog every minute and it’s a beautiful thing and I’m honored and humbled to use my knowledge to help him. I want to help more dogs and owners. Whatever your hopes are for your dog with a little more knowledge and just 15 to 30 minutes spent a day I promise you can have the best dog ever! I would love to help you. Unlike other trainers I will be teaching you how to train your dog. I won’t do some magic while I’m with your dog and then leave you totally confused and frustrated when I leave when your dog is misbehaving because together we will have a plan in place and give you the tools in easy and replicable manner to continue the training. I believe that unless the owner can utilize and clearly replicate what I do that your money and time spent paying for training is useless. Let’s teach you how to train your dog in a fun and easy manner. You can be the leader that your dog desperately needs and I promise it can be a lot of fun in the process 💜🐾
