Found dog on 51 and David Dr (across from Fullwood animal hospital) near Lebanon Rd. He was in the middle of 51 and several people stopped to contain him. Sorry, I didn't get a picture, too much chaos. He was a male about 30 pounds, white with some brown patches and had a faded blue collar. Another lady who said she works with Pressley Animal Hospital offered to take him. If he may be yours, comment with a picture or follow up with Pressley Animal Hospital tomorrow

Happy Gotcha Day to Dexter in Charlotte, NC! Dexter is an introverted cat. He likes his close humans, but scared of everything else. He usually hangs out in the bedroom, but for some odd reason, he decided to make a dash out of an open door. We weren't sure exactly where he headed, but assumed in the woods right behind their fence. We decided to open the crawl space for him and put a camera at the door and a camera behind the fence. Sure enough, he showed up that night at the crawl space. Next the trap was set. We started seeing him on both cameras, but we also started seeing other cats, racoons and possums. This unfortunately was keeping him away, so we decided to stop leaving food out and using human scent articles of his favorite person. Dexter's family was on top of this game! If we seen cats on the camera, they would run them off, refresh traps, release the other cat we trapped-anytime, day or night, rain or not. Last night, they decided to throw some good Ole KFC chicken nuggets in the trap and boom, the end of his 10 day escapade!! Dexter kept his family on their toes for sure, but they did a wonderful job and never gave up hope. Welcome home Dexter!

Happy Gotcha Day to Baxter in Waxhaw, NC! Baxter went missing on 10/29 from his yard. Some nearby neighbors seen him wandering around soon after he was lost and then no more sightings. We took Sammy out on Tuesday. It appeared he was traveling the woods behind houses across the street from his home. We set out cameras and food stations and stepped up our game with large posters and flyers. His family didn't leave any stones unturned! They handed out and hung up 500 flyers and talked to every person they could within a 4 mile radius. Thankfully, we started getting sightings called in. He had walked about 3 miles from home. He found an area that he appeared to hang around in for a few days. One of the homes where he had been seen at on Wednesday must have appealed to him. He showed back up again this evening. His family got out there immediately and was able to get Baxter!! Signs, social media and knocking on doors got this cute one home. His family rocked it! Even though this was stressful, exhausting and heartwrenching for the family, they kept pushing through and did all the right things.
Welcome home Baxter!!

Happy Gotcha Day to Maggie in Ft Mill! Miss Maggie's family was moving. In the process, she took the opportunity to dash out the door while moving stuff out. She decided to set up camp in some nearby brush. A wonderful family friend Alicia, made several attempts to get Maggie to come to her. At one point she was able to get her and tried to put her in a carrier, but Maggie wasn't having it..she got loose and went back to the brush. Maggie's owner and her daughter tried to get her to come, but she just wasn't willing. We set up a trap on Thursday. On Friday, she showed up at the trap, but didn't show any interest in going in. Saturday, we set up an additional trap on the porch of her old apartment as well. Early this morning, she went in the trap near the brush, but wouldn't go all the way in to step on the trip plate😬. She then went to the trap on the porch. No go there either. Thankfully, around 8 this morning, she decided she was hungry enough to go all the way in and get the bowl of food. Good girl! Welcome home Miss Maggie! Your family, friends and us are so very happy you are home safe and sound.
Alicia, thank you for all you did to get Maggie home. What an awesome friend you are!!

Happy Gotcha Day to Ginny in Charlotte! Ohhh, this girl was tugging at my heart. Ginny has had a tough year. Her wonderful rescue-Forgotten, Now Family pulled her from the shelter after coming in pregnant and had her babies. None of them made it. She was very sad and defeated. She went to a temporary foster and then on to her long term foster. Ginny is very skittish and doesn't know how to "dog" just yet, but is making progress. When her foster mom opened the front door, Ginny made a run for it. Teresa and Kelly with Tucker K9 Search and Rescue set out a trap immediately but Ginny had other plans. After 6 days and no sightings, they reached out to us to bring Sammy out to track her. We were out to track on Tuesday last week. Sammy gave us some hot spots, so we set out cameras and food stations, but no Ginny. After the storms cleared up, I went out on Saturday to add some more cameras and was looking at the areas Sammy alerted me to. One of them was a right of way that ran behind the fosters home. Thankful for the rain because that means mud and I came across some very fresh paw prints. We decided to move the trap and camera to that area. She had soooo many good places to go- ponds, parks, golf course. Thankfully we got our first sighting Saturday evening which was close to a park and golf course. We placed more posters in the area. Yesterday we got a call that sealed the deal. A man was walking his dog and his dog found Ginny laying behind a fenced area. The man seen our posters and called his foster mom. She got there immediately and Ginny was still there. She had Ginny eating chicken through the fence but infortunately the fence was a barrier. When she went to go around to get on the other side, Ginny walked back into the woods and she lost sight of her. We set out a trap and a couple of hours later she found it. She was still full from all that chicken, so wasn't interested in going in the trap🙄, but as we hoped, she showed back up later that evening and couldn't resist the chicken and yummy hamburger patty. We finally had her safe! She was exhausted, but otherwise she is fine. What worked? A dedicated rescue, phenomenal foster family and Posters!! Special thanks to Sammy. I never give him enough credit. At home, this boy is a wild man with the energy of a puppy X 10 that keeps me on my toes, but when I put his harness on, he knows it's time to work and he never disappoints me. I am super proud of him❣️Welcome home Ginny, you have nothing but better days ahead 💕

Update: Earl has been found and reunited with his family! This smart boy made his way to Cal Bost road yesterday evening and made himself right at home with a very kind man and his dog Buddy. He stayed all night, was fed and got lots of playtime with Buddy. Thanks to Midland VFD who reached out for help and participated in the search, the Brown family who lives near the car wreck site and gave us full access to their property and of course to the kind man on Cal Bost who took care of Earl until the sheriff deputy showed up to contain him and waited until we all arrived. It was a very emotional reunion. We are thankful for everyone who helped get him safe.❣️

Midland area, please be on the lookout for Earl. He was last seen on Flowes Store Road not far from Midland Fire Dept. He is extremely skittish. Please do not chase or call for him. Please report sighting to his family at 734-904-3118 or message me here. Thank you!

Happy Gotcha Day to Miss Tic in Mint Hill! Tic, along with her brothers Tac and Toe were being fostered until they could be transported to their rescue. These babies were very scared of everything. They had a vet appt on Tuesday, but apparently Tic had other plans. She was able to slip her harness in the parking lot and took off. Thankfully, she didn't go far. She found herself a large patch of brush and went as far back as she could and stayed there. Tic was very bonded with her brother Tac, so her foster tried using him as a lure the first night. She would come out, but wouldn't get close enough to a human to be caught. We set out a humane trap on Wednesday. She would not come near the trap. That evening, we put Tac in a crate and backed it up to the trap. Again, she would come out and just lay near the crate where Tac was, but no go with the trap. We tried luring her with food and with Tac, but she is one tough cookie. She eventually nosed around the trap, but we felt like it was going to take some time for her to get hungry enough to even think about it. Unfortunately, we were not far from a pretty busy road. Waiting it out was not an option we were comfortable with. We were going to try blocking her in and either using a catch pole or large net to get her, but didn't feel we had enough manpower at the time to manage that safely. Then I get a call from from my good friends and pet recovery partners- Teresa and Kelly with Tucker K9 Search and Rescue. We were discussing the situation and they generously offered to bring out their large kennel to set up. Once we got that set up, we put Tac in a carrier and placed it in the kennel. Once he started yelping, here comes Tic. She couldn't resist going in to check on her brother. Kelly pulled the rope and we trapped her inside! Whoo hoo! Awesome teamwork between the foster, vet office and Tucker K9 Search and Rescue got this cutie pie to safety. Welcome back Tic- Tac and Toe were happy to see you🙂

Happy Gotcha Day to Alessia! This gorgeous pup went missing from her sitters house on July 8th in Midland, NC. There was a sighting the next day off of 601 near Mt Pleasant Road, but nothing since then. This area is nothing but fields and woods, which makes it difficult to get sightings. Yesterday morning, another sighting was reported at Flowes Store Fire Department. We immediately drove around the area, but did not see her. The fire department generously let us set cameras and food and set up camp to cook out. Around 830pm, we started grilling bacon and hotdogs. Within 5 minutes, the owner gets a call that they just saw her back over off 601 where she was seen last Saturday. We shut the grill down and headed out there. We were not able to get eyes on her, so we decided we would go get the grill and bring it back to this property. As I was on my way back, the owner calls. He just got another sighting of her walking down 601 towards 24/27. So we headed there to search 601 and a few neighborhoods that are nearby. After several pass-throughs, I was able to get eyes on her in a driveway off 601. Thankfully the owners were just a minute away. As soon as they pulled up, I could see her tail wagging, yet a little cautious. As soon as they approached and said her favorite name "Boo boo girl", it was all over but the crying, literally 🥰 Welcome home Alessia aka Boo boo girl!!

I always like to share stories about great ideas that work. These 2 beauties went to work with dad today and decided to go on a little adventure. Mom and I spoke on the phone about the do's and don'ts. I explained that it is pretty common for dogs to come back to their point of escape. After looking and stressing all day, Dad needed to take a break for a bit, so his co-workers took over for him and sure enough, they were spotted at his workplace, but they wouldn't come to the co-worker. Mom was on the phone and told the co-worker to FaceTime her. As soon as mom started talking, they starting walking towards the co-worker, a little confused maybe. Uhhhh, momma??...... where is my momma??😁 (2nd picture) Great thinking Mom, that was genius. This is a great alternative if you are not there in person. We have also used a recording of the owner talking to their dog and played it on our car speaker to get their attention. I love this story. Awesome teamwork and smart thinking got these pups safe in the co-workers car until dad got back there to get them. Welcome home little nuggets!

Happy Gotcha Day to Khloe in Charlotte! Little miss Khloe was only with her new family for about 1 1/2 weeks when she decided she was super woman and jumped off the balcony of their 2nd story apartment 😳 yikes..... Khloe was seen the next day at a car dealership on Independence blvd. They tried to catch her but she ran into the woods. We got alot of posters hung in the area. On Friday, we got a call from a man who had just moved into some nearby apartments and had seen our posters. He had seen Khloe for about 3 nights, come out of the woods to eat some food that someone else was leaving out for her, but said she was very scared and would run back into the woods. We took a trap and camera out there, but no Khloe Friday or Saturday. Her new mom unfortunately had to leave town for a funeral but was checking in with Animal Care and Control and monitoring their website. This morning she seen a new stray intake post that looked very much like Khloe. I headed there immediately to get some better pictures and a video to send to her mom for verification. She was certain it was Khloe. The employee who I was speaking with, pulled her file and there was Khloe's pink collar, yay! Khloe gets to spend another night in doggy jail so she can be spayed and microchipped in the morning and will finally be reunited with her family tomorrow afternoon. Thank you to whoever was feeding Khloe and was able to keep her in the area. I assume it was the same person who was able to contain her and called AC to pick her up. Many thanks to the nice young man who called us to report seeing her. And thank you to Charlotte Animal Care and Contol for taking care of her and the wonderful employee who worked with me to get everything set up. Sadly, I didn't catch her name, but she was awesome. Welcome home Khloe!

Yellow aka Buddy needs a forever home! He was a lost dog that was wandering a neighborhood in Matthew's NC for about 3 weeks. We were able to humanely trap him on Easter Sunday. He has been with me ever since. We were hoping to find his owners, but no one has come forward. Rescues are overloaded so we are trying to help "Buddy" find his forever home. Here is what we have learned about him: He is a super sweet laid back, gentle soul. He LOVES people and will be your BFF forever. He is about 4 years old and weighs 49lbs. He is housetrained, leash trained and crate trained. He loves car rides and leisurely walks. He wants nothing more than to be around his people. The lady that was feeding him while roaming their neighborhood takes him to her house once a week. She says he does wonderful and has great house manners. Unfortunately, a few of my dogs are not dog friendly, so he has been living in my laundry room by himself. While, it is better than being in a loud overcrowded shelter, he deserves better. We feel the best home for him right now is a home where he is the only pet. He interacted with 2 dogs. One being one of my littles. She snapped and lunged at him when they met and he reacted back. After that, he just ignored her (last video). He did a meet and greet with a large male dog. It did not go as set up and the big dog was excited and ran up to him and Buddy reacted. I believe he was overwhelmed, but he has not had other interactions since then, so I can't say if he is dog reactive or he was nervous. When he went to the vet, he did fine with the resident cat and the vet. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has had his rabies shot and started on monthly HW medication. When we find an approved adopter, he will get his remaining vaccines prior to "going home". He gets excited when he sees squirrels and frogs- game on🙂 Buddy is one of the best behaved dogs and would thrive with a family that has plenty of love to give. We believe he is a lab mixed with possibly beagle. If you want a loyal, forever buddy, please email me at [email protected] or text 704-615-1662 so we can set up a time to discuss further. Help us find Buddy a family he deserves by sharing. Thank you.

Happy Gotcha day to Cholo in Mint Hill, NC. Cholo was was adopted on March 31st. Within a few hours, he took the opportunity to escape out of the door when a family member was coming in. He was seen traveling a few times and landed about 6 miles away in Bainbridge neighborhood. Sightings would be called into his new owners, but when they got out there, he would run off (typical lost dog behavior). He started showing up on a ring camera each night. His original owner who lives 2 hours away reached out for help. We set out our biggest trap. We quickly decided the trap was not going to be big enough. Tucker K9 Trapping and Recovery had a 5x10 dog kennel that we decided we would set up and use as our trap with a rope tied to the door to pull close when he goes in. Alot of planning, coordination and really late, long nights went into this capture. We had to monitor his timing and behavior for a couple of days so we could plan when to "set" the trap. We had some distractions, as always when trying to trap, but last night was finally the night. Around 11:30 pm, he was seen at a church nearby, so we were hopeful he was making his way towards us. He showed up about 10 minutes later and as we watched with a live camera from a distance (Kelly around the corner in a deer blind to pull the rope), he walked up the porch and couldn't resist the chicken and steak we had waiting for him! Thankful for Kelly's precise timing in pulling the rope, we got Cholo after being on the run for 28 days! Whoo hoo! Many, many thanks to Casey- the owner of Cholo's favorite porch for coordinating with us and allowing us full access to her property. We couldn't have done it without her collaboration. And as always, I am very thankful to Teresa and Kelly with Tucker K9 Trapping and Recovery for your partnership. Cholo was very dirty and very tired, but appeared to be in good health. Welcome home Cholo!!!

Charlie's gotcha day! Charlie's family went out of town for a long weekend trip. Yesterday, while she and her new friend Buddy were playing in the back yard at the sitters, she found a way to get out of the fenced yard and have a little getaway herself😳 Around 930 this morning, her sitter called and said she had eyes on her. I headed out there, but she disappeared into a field. Fortunately, she was heading back towards the neighborhood. Teresa and Kelly with Tucker K9 Trapping and Recovery showed up and thankfully had traps with them. We headed to the sitters house to set the traps. We set one right outside the fence where she escaped and one at the front of the house. While setting the 2nd trap, we seen her about 4 houses down in the driveway. We all left the area quickly. About 2 hours later, she showed up at the trap in front of the house. She went in, but not far enough to trigger the door. She then headed to the backyard, got out of the fence in the same place, but this time, we had a trap waiting for her! She couldn't resist the chicken nuggets and Vienna sausages and was safely trapped. Good girl Charlie!! Her family was already on their way back home and couldn't wait to see her. We are so thankful for all the teamwork to get her safe and back home with her family❣️
