GEAR LIST for https://DoTheDreams.com
Tiaras, ball gowns and high heels (optional)
Let’s face it ladies, use common sense. We do suggest you sew name labels in your underwear. Wait, that was for April 1st. It doesn’t have the same ring now, does it?
Jammies
Sleeping bag (I know you only need it 2 nights, but stuff it)
Cowboy hat (s) you need to look good while we’re on horseback, we are filming
Swim suit for the hot tub (absolutely no nudies at our age)
Gloves (I like the leather work gloves, saves a lot of wear and tear on your hands)
Chaps, if you have them
Boots (required.)
Raincoat or duster (yes, it sometimes rains for a few minutes)
Canteen (It’s just best if you have your own to take care of and refill daily)
Bandanas (bring enough for all the days, they filter out dust, keep your neck and chest from getting burned, AND if we decide to rob a bank, they’re a quick disguise)
I like to wear a tee shirt with a long-sleeved shirt over it. You get hot; tie it around your waist. Get too much sun, put it on. High altitude sun is no joke.
Enough jeans to get you through the trip (usually 3 days to one pair, just say’n)
Yes, we have laundry facilities in the lodge, but who wants to do much in there? Save it for Haf 2.
We might, might, might get into this restaurant one night; I’m still working on it. It’s Montana and you can dress in jeans and whatever, wherever. Suit yourself how glam you want to look. For me, glam means ‘cleanest’ jeans (don’t judge me)
It can get a little chilly some nights so have a jacket. If you need more than that we’ll wrap you in a saddle pad but then you have to sit further away from the group
When we are up in the camp, at night and early morning, I tend to put on as much as I have with me; it gets chilly until the sun warms us up
For reference, on July 31, the hottest day of the year, temperatures in Plains typically range from 57°F to 85°F Remember, we will be up in the mountains those two nights…a little nippy
We have saddlebags for everyone, but if you have a favorite horn bag you want to bring and you have room for it, bring it. Otherwise, we have you covered.
When I’m not in a cowboy hat, I’m in a baseball hat. Lots of good reasons to keep your head covered but mostly I’m not big on fixing hair
Also, not a fan of wearing jewelry while riding, less accidents (your call)
We may or may not have a Betty Croker, (intentional spelling for you smarty pants), Bake Off one night. What does that mean, you ask? I’m not sure, but it involves wine and some of our favorite recipes so bring one of yours, just in case. There may be prizes…
Off to camp, off to camp, I just can’t wait to go off to camp!!!!!
