We usually grow basil every year here at and this year was no different.
Right now we’re using a dried . It has wonderful anise aromatics and can be used interchangeably in all our recipies.
I also keep and freeze the stalks and add them to my Thai soups for flavour. After I remove them from the soup, it’s into the pile as we are very conscious to have as little food waste as possible.
This year I grew and used the first cut for dried usage as I always like to have one in the cupboard on standby. Our second and third cut was used for .

2024 Will be the last year that will be using any kind of chemical fertilizer in the back yard (the front yard is under the purview of my husband as per our agreement) and it will only be used on the flowers.
Last year, timed correctly of course, I was able to try and use with amazing success! I soaked the peels in water and covered the bucket, leaving it outside to help with the decomposition process. A few days later, I brought my utility blender outside and purred until smooth. I transfered back into the bucket and used it like a concentrate in my watering can.
All I can say is !!!
If you’re looking for a that results in , give banana water fertilizer a try!!!!

Our little pod always celebrates on Christmas Eve. It's a Portuguese thing, because everyone is too impatient to wait until Christmas Day 🤣🤣🤣.
There's always good food and a few giggles and always a moment to remember those gone before us. Our tradition seems to be Chinese and this year vegan cheesecake so mummy can have some. I placed two layers of apple pie filling between the 'cheesecake', but can't find any caramel without milk products so that's a big no!
Now where's my Santa hat......
Mar 3, 2021 - This vegan cheesecake is the best ever! Rich and creamy and topped with a salted caramel fudge sauce. Tastes like the 'real thing'!

Quick little video of the #greenhouse ready to go!!!! I’ve always been a traditional #gardener in the sense that I’ve usually planted in a typical large, flat space. This year I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to have gone in three different directions. A large “typical” garden thanks to the true generous nature of my current employer, #raisedbeds which I have in my yard for #gardening versus #flowerbeds aaaaaaaaaaaaand I have #tomatoes, #peppers, #rosemary and #asters in my greenhouse. I’m already planning to add #cucumbers to the greenhouse next year. I attribute and honour my ancestral heritage for my knowledge of gardening and am very proud of my ancestry.
