This is a Simbrah bull. Simbrah cattle is a good breed for producing good quality meat. DVS Sabah had introduced the cattle into Sabah for suitability evaluation at one of the government farms. Unfortunately, Simbrah is not tick tolerance and thus its had difficulty to perform in tick areas for open grazing.

Estrous or oestrus synchronisation is very important tool in cattle Reproductive management. There are many estrous synchronisation protocols have been developed especially for Bos ta**us cattle but less been developed for Bos indicus cattle.

I was happy and grateful for developing one of the new estrous synchronisation protocol during my postgraduate study in New Zealand.

Good Genetics Is the Future of Farming — And Here’s Why You Should Invest Now

I will keep saying this again and again: Good genetics is the future of sustainable and profitable farming.

Whether you're in the livestock business for breeding or meat production, your choice of genetics can make or break your operation. Farmers who prioritize quality genetics are not just raising animals — they’re building empires.

Here’s what investing in superior genetics brings to your farm:

1. Faster Growth & Early Maturity

Good genetics allows animals to reach market weight or reproductive age quicker, saving time and feed costs.

2. Efficient Feed Conversion

Animals with strong genetic traits convert feed into body mass or milk more efficiently, increasing profitability.

3. Stronger Immunity & Disease Resistance

Well-bred animals often come from lines that are more resilient to diseases, reducing veterinary costs and mortality rates.

4. Consistent Performance Across Generations

With a good genetic base, each generation of animals improves in quality and performance. It makes your breeding program more predictable and manageable.

5. Market Advantage

Meat from superior breeds fetches better prices in the market, and quality breeding stock is always in demand.

Bottom line?
Investing in good genetics is not a cost — it’s an investment with lifelong returns. It gives you an edge, a brand, and most importantly, a profitable legacy.

Are you ready to future-proof your farm?
Start with genetics.
