Chelles Fosters I've been fostering for six years. I started puppies but moved to neonatal kittens since they are most at risk for euthanasia in the shelter system.

It is, by far, the most rewarding thing I have every done in my life.

It appears that the new toy for the kitten room is Kenzie approved 😄
Apparently I may just have to buy another one for her lol

What you're witnessing here folks is the tiniest house panther realizing that she is, in fact, a mighty HUNTER ☺️
You can see the exact moment when she's like, "Heck yeah! This is what I've been missing!!" Boy oh boy I love this little one so so much! 🥰

It always amazes me that you can kittens all from the same litter that are so different developmentally. The babies are about 7 1/2 weeks old now and Mr Peeps is already a whopping 2.5 pounds, completely weaned, and obsessed with wand toys and so confident in his "hunting" skills, Cadbury still wants a bottle 1-2 times a day and isn't quite into drinking water yet, and then we have my sweet Jelly Bean.. she's still so itty bitty...she still regularly wants the bottle 4 times a day though she is eating both wet and dry food, and still isn't too sure about wand toys. She's kind of interested but also kind of afraid of them still lol.

The new toy appears to be a hit ☺️

Happy day to my most special boy! It's been 4 years since the amputation and he may be 14 yrs old and losing his hearing, but he's still a tenacious, stubborn terrier! I love you my Seamie 💕

Hands down, the best thing I ever did was put a camera in the kitten room. I did it so that I can check in whenever I need to and can see food levels to make sure they always have food, but I absolutely love being able to see them all the time. I swear I could watch it all day lol 🥰

The babies are loving the new hanging bed in the kitten room 🥰

Now the real fun begins! Foster kittens Jelly Bean, Cadbury & Mr Peeps are finally free roaming in the kitten room so Teagan gets to have play time with them. I don't know how I got so lucky with this girl but she was truly made for fostering and is such an integral part of the socializing experience for the babies.

My babies are growing up so fast! Look at these stunning little beans ❤️❤️

I am absolutely blown away. All in all neonatal kittens (kittens under 8 weeks of age) are so fragile, but boy their little bodies can be so resilient!
I took this most recent photo of Jelly Bean's leg yesterday. That just EIGHT days since starting antibiotics! If you look at that photo compared to the last in this series which is how it looked when we started, it is amazing how fast her little body is healing itself. There is no more open wound, and the only scab that's left is maybe the size of the tip of a pencil lead. There's still slight swelling but she is using it and I don't see as much of a limp and she's now trying to climb up the mesh of the play yard. This girl is a tiny little miracle ❤️

Little Jelly Bean's leg is looking so much better already. First photo was taken Sunday and the second was taken just this afternoon. I'm so thankful that the vet gave me pain meds for her along with the antibiotics because she's been so much more comfortable and has been able to get the rest she needs to heal. There's obviously still some significant swelling but all around it's looking so much better. She does use it and is able to get around though I am noticing that she does limp. Either way if it heals completely or if it doesn't we will deal with it as it comes. If anyone knows that an animal can live full, active and healthy lives as a tripod it's this household and if that's what needs to be done for her we will get her taken care of, but for now we will wait and see. I'm hopeful though what with seeing such change in less than a week

Jelly Bean may be much smaller than her brothers but this girl is spicy! 🌶️ 🥰

I think I might get a bad Yelp review....

Haven't posted a Lola update in a while. We are half way through her physical therapy and though she still has a bit of a hunched back I can definitely see that it's not as bad. In addition, her balance and strength is improving so much! We've been religiously doing her homework exercises on the days she doesn't have PT...she will do absolutely anything you want her to do as long as you have treats lol. She's been such a trooper with all of this. I'm so very proud of her

06/04/2021

Ugh....I am head over heels in love with this girl already. We all know I have an infatuation with an underdog...or underkitten 😊
She's just such a little fighter and she's so flipping beautiful! She is the true definition of tiny but mighty.

Well these little nuggets are finally acting like kittens their age are supposed to be! You can tell they're feeling better. More energy and we finally had p**ps this morning! It even looks like some of the swelling is going down some in Jelly Bean's leg, at least a bit.....and just look at these gains over just THREE DAYS!
Jelly Bean : 32 grams
Mr Peeps : 55 grams
Cadbury : 61 grams

Happy Easter from the Easter kittens! Official introduction of these little ones. First up we have the littlest and only girl, Jelly Bean, next is Cadbury (M), and last but not least is Peeps (M) the loudest and nearly always hangry.
Babies are doing much better today, they are now fully hydrated and have graduated from the syring to the bottle. Still no p**p though we are working on it and hoping for success soon. ❤️

My precious girl had her first PT appt today! I'm so grateful since I can't be in there that they sent me this video. It truly shows that much like her momma my girl will do ANYTHING for treats lol! So proud of how brave she has been through all of this

05/03/2021

Our girl has started eating at her own bowl again ☺️ I have noticed that she has kind of a hunch along her back that was never there before so I'll be asking the surgeon at her next recheck

03/03/2021

So....Lola did a thing today....
By no means it is graceful but wow!! This girl is on 🔥

Learning to use the new sofa ramp ☺️
Had to cut off access to the other ways to get on and off the sofa now but she's getting the hang of it!
We've been able to start spending more time out in the living room now that she's out and about in the house and now with the ramp. She's loving having more freedom ❤️

26/02/2021

It's been quite a while since Teagan has been allowed to play with Lola. She was so excited ☺️

Lola being able to do some of her most favorite things lately. We've started spending more time in the living room. I'm waiting on a ramp to arrive for the sofa but for now she's so good and waits for me to pick her up and out her on the sofa.

Six week post-op update! Lola is officially off crate rest, however when I'm working I've still been keeping her in the play yard only because the areas of bare floor are too slippery for her still. Tomorrow I'm going to lay down more rugs in the areas that are causing her problems then I should be able to keep her out. I have started letting her walk around the house and such when I'm off work. Today on my lunch hour we took our first short walk up the street. She had a great time and my plan is to start walking her a little every day so she can start building her strength back up. I also got a referral to a local specialist so we can schedule some physical therapy appts to help her progress along since it's been kind of stagnant the last week and a half or so. Hopefully physical therapy will help even more. She's my little trooper this one. So proud of her ❤️

T is so excited that Lola is feeling playful again. I can't wait until they can really play together again. ❤️
