People often ask us what the difference is between a Timneh African Grey and a Congo African Grey. Here is a great side by side comparison. The TIMNEH is on the left, the CONGO is on the right.

Timneh African Greys are smaller, they have a dark grey body, dark feet, and a dark burgundy tail.

Congo African Greys are larger, they have a light grey body, light grey feet and a very distinct, bright red tail.
Both have outstanding talking/mimicking abilities, both can make wonderful companions. Both the Timneh and Congo are extremely intelligent species. They will be successful in a home that offers activities, attention, structured training and interactive caging. These incredible species offer much more than “a talking bird”. Beautiful African grey parrot babies for sale, now 12 weeks old and fully weaned on to a high quality complete pellet diet and happily taking fruit, veg and the odd monkey nut! They are very friendly and have been hand raised from two weeks of age. They have been raised in a genuine home environment and are used to all the usual household noises.
