You are NOT going to believe this. Today, I was scrolling on Facebook and saw a post on a local page from a stranger whose dogs have recently switched foods and was hoping to donate Purina Pro Plan dry and wet food that she no longer needed. I commented on the post thinking “anything helps” and expecting a can or two of food. I pulled up, and she had 34 lbs of dry food and 30 cans of wet food. WHAT?! Thank you, Charrington N. for your generosity! German Shepherd Rescue of Texas is going to make awesome use of this donation! 😍

If you wonder why you have seen a bit less of us this is part of it. While we are still helping dogs and on track to help more then last year. We are slowing a bit and making preparations for a small break. We are excited to announce our newest litter mate lol Baby Hensley February 2024. 💙Please be patient with us as this will be a huge adjustment for us. Molly our oldest introducing our youngest.

Monday Vibes 😞

Not bashing or guilting but this is a daily request.
We are so overwhelmed and this is actually a fraction of our total requests per day. We at times get more request in a day then we have capacity to help in a year. If you want to foster please use this link. https://bit.ly/3wFx8nA

1am- we found a stray
1:30- we found a stray
2am- our apartment will not allow
3am- my landlord says I had to many dogs
3:30- someone dumped on our property
4am- a dog we rescued just had a litter of 9 puppies
5am- We flew to California to save a dog and now it attacked our dog and we can’t trust it can you take it
6am- there is a stay in our neighborhood can you take it?
8am- Another GSD rescue told us to reach out to you for a dog that we save from the shelter we have had it for 5 days but our tiny home with 2 big dogs isn’t enough.
10am- shelter dog needs your help
10:30- I’m handicapped and disabled I’ve had strokes and in a wheelchair and and the dog I adopted I can no longer care for.
11:00- I’ve been reported for too much barking and I’m caring for a handicap with dementia and knocks my mother down.
11:30am I saved a dog from being EU at the shelter with a rescue in Vermont going to take him supposedly however they now don’t want him and I can’t keep him.
12- I’m looking to rehome a dog of someone who has died
1- do you take in dogs that need homes?
3pm- this dog dies at 5pm- can you help?
4pm- we took in a dog 4 days ago that we can longer handle can you please take them?
5pm- I have a dog that is aggressive toward people and other dogs can you take them?
5:30- I have a brother sister that are now bonded sibling syndrome pairs that want to kill everything can you take them?
5:30- there is a GSD  roaming in my neighborhood can you take them?
5:45- I have a dog that my friend needs to get rid of but isn’t willing can you make him?
6pm- this dog will die by 4pm if not helped can you same them?? “2 hours after deadline”
8pm- I have a 8 month old I can’t keep can you take?
8:30- I have 4 dogs that need homes can you take?
9pm- have a dog I found a year ago but can’t keep anymore can you take.

Remember Mama Kelce with her Chiefs Crew? ❤️💛

She was the Mama dog we saved that had 9 puppies in the shelter. She was super thin and had difficulty walking.

Well she’s now ready for her next step and we could use your help. She will be undergoing the 1st of 2 major FHO surgeries to restore function to her hips. After all she’s been through this will get her ready for happily ever after. You will not meet a sweeter or gentle girl!

Went to Walmart for grocery shopping came home with 2 puppies….welcome Bandit & Piper to GSRTX! 🐾💙🐾

One of our amazing volunteers saved these babies from a Walmart parking lot being given away for free in rough shape. They have hair loss (pictures in the comments), bloated bellies, and are underweight but they are safe at home now getting prepped for much needed baths and good food! We have them estimated at about 5-6 weeks.

We will get them checked out by the vet to assess their health condition and start on medications to get rid of their intestinal parasite loads. If you would like to help towards their medical bill for this week please donate at this link: https://bit.ly/3x1i8Aq or at the button below.
