Thank you everybody for the Birthday wishes. I was up at 6:30 cutting grass that needed it bad. I got the front done. The vehicle is ready for transport tomorrow. I have 6 dogs going to Red Fern Animal Rescue Melissa McCalister. Yes, I am getting my bed back. Yahoo. No more having a daycare at the house. Now, I am getting back to having my seniors. Plus, I can save food. We currently only have 120 lbs in dog food. Thank god we only feed out 20 lbs a day. . We don't get dog food donations like we used to. I was blackballed Oh well that is another story. Got to get up early in the morning. Then off to the airport with the doggies.

This is a first for us as well. I was told we have to get our dogs to the San Antonio Airport. Wow. This next week health certificates will be getting done as well. I will post pictures when transport takes place.

3 years ago Lawrence Patrick our co-founder crossed over to heaven. To this day we miss him dearly. When my son's father passed away it was Lawrence who took a baby under his wing and gave him so much knowledge about science and life. Lawrence was a real man who was a saint. Our friendship began in 2004 when I cared for his neighbor in Somerset. From there we shared our dreams and hopes to make this world a better place. Lawrence knew of my love of dogs and cats. He respected it and when we started Tri-City Animal Sanctuary he knew it was going to be a rough ride. It was but we did our best. We were dealt with trials. In Sept 2005 Lawrence broke his back in a car accident. I quit nursing school to keep the sanctuary going. In March 2007 I was diagnosed with cancer. We fought and continued our mission. It is now 2024 and even though our direction has changed we still fight for the protection of the animals. We are their stewards and we have to keep going for them. We are their voice. Rest in Peace my best friend. John and I truly miss you every day. John misses his papa and it shows when your name is mentioned.

Soon, we will be selling tumblers to raise money for Tri City Animal Sanctuary. $2 of every sale will go to the Atascosa Animal Allies for their spay neuter program. Paws crossed that this helps raise funds for both our programs. We already have tumblers, sublimation printers and the sublimation machine. So excited.

Update: At the age of 9 Mama's Bandits thyroid is good and no cushings disease. The diagnosis is she is just fat. Little stinker. I bet she goes to the refrigerator at night when we are all asleep.
Today is Mama Bandit's turn at the vet clinic. She needs blood work and rabies. We are getting her thyroid tested and also testing her for Cushing's disease.
25/04/2024
I am in shock. This campaign is going to save us some much-needed funds. We can now get Mama Bandit to the vet to check her for Cushing's Disease and thyroid issues. Because of your generosity, I can now divert funds for the vet bill instead of having to buy food. This is a total of approx 774 lbs of food. Heather Donated today via pay pal $150. I truly appreciate the generosity. This food will last us approx 38 days since we feed 20 lbs out a day. Thankfully we only have 23 dogs and we need to keep it that way. No more days of having as many as we used to have. I won't do it. Please support your local shelters we all need the help. The home-based ones need it more than ever. We don't have veterinarians on staff and have to visit vet clinics to pay the cost of the clinics. People have asked me via message to take in more dogs. We can't. I am sorry. I have to be responsible and care for what we have. No mas on intake.

I want to thank the person or persons who purchased 2 bags of dog food and 1 box of puppy pads from the Chewy wish list. I also want to think the one person from West Texas who donated 15 dollars. Your generosity is very much appreciated.

Update: The blood work was testing 2 dogs for diabetes. Remeber a few weeks back Rascal crossed the rainbow bridge due to renal and liver failure. He was a diabetic and we had no idea. His one sister Rey was adopted 8 years ago in washington. We recently found out she is a diabetic. It made sense to test the sisters we have.
Today, I took 6 dogs to our veterinarian for rabies vaccinations and blood work. I want to stress that owning a dog or cat comes with responsibilities. Just because you get a free dog or cat doesn't mean that they don't require care. Now, I work full time and basically Tri city animal sanctuary is broke. Meaning the bills are paid by me. I am not rich and times are getting harder. What I am saying is this. If you can't do right by your dog or cat then please don't get one. None of the rescues I know get paid by the state. We are volunteers and we care. When a local rescue is offering low cost spay neuter don't moan and groan cause you have to wait. The people with the rescue are taking time out of their day to make a difference. When you moan and groan cause you are asked for a owner surrender fee then remember the picture I am posting of today's veterinarian bill. And if your kids want a pet and you know you can't afford the bill then go to cracker barrel and get one of these stuff animals that my son is holding.

Can you help us with a monthly donation of 1 bag of dog food or cat food a month? This would help us save money for other things such as flea/tick supplies, vaccinations, and vet bills. We feed out 20 lbs a day to the dogs and (1) 30 lb bag of cat food a week. I cleaned up the wish list and have food in there that is reasonably priced. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. https://www.chewy.com/g/tri-city-animal-sanctuary_b76806822 -list

A nice cool morning. Goodbye heat and welcome fall. This morning some reading was going on again.
We also have chickens. Our Hens lay their eggs in a cat bed on the front porch. Ok, I guess that isn't weird but how about a Hen reading a book. Why me?
Today we got part of the surprise order. I was coming back from pleasanton and FedEx was at the house. Thankyou so to our mystery donor. We are very grateful.
Update on the Lawrence Patrick memorial cattery building. We are almost done.
The building for the new cattery is taking shape.
Our new cattery needs to be finished up. If you would like to donate for this project that would be great. Homedepot or Lowes gift cards would be a great help. Our mailing address is Tri city animal sanctuary po box 194 Somerset Texas 78069. Our PayPal is [email protected] or https://paypal.me/tricityanimal
The new cattery is in memory of our co founder Lawrence Patrick who passed away from end stage renal failure.

Our History
Tri city animal sanctuary was born in 2005. It was our dream to help abused and neglected dogs and cats in Atascosa county. Since 2005 we have rescued 4000 dogs and cats. In 2012 we had a dream to start the Atascosa Spay Neuter Assistance Program. We learned along time ago that we could keep taking dogs and cats until we were blue in the face but that wouldn't help the overpopulation. Thus, The Atascosa Spay Neuter Assistance Program was born. Through the years we have sponsored SNAP mobile clinics in our county. We also have signed a contract with the Brooks Spay Neuter Clinic to be our clinic for the program.
In 2017 We were awarded a 2 year contract with the State of Texas for the Animal Friendly grant.
Since 2012 we have been able to do the following:
2012: 413 dogs and cats
2013: 217 dogs and cats
2014: 236 dogs and cats
2015: 321 dogs and cats
2016: 275 dogs and cats
2017: 424 dogs and cats
2018: 450 dogs and cats
and so far for 2019
January 2019: 91 dogs and cats.
February 2019: 99 dogs and cats.
The word of our program is getting out there more. Please help us with much needed funds to spay neuter as many dogs and cats we can in Atascosa county.
In 2018 Atascosa county animal control opened and in our commitment we paid for the first 100 adoptions surgeries. Plus we covered a portion of the spay neuter fees for January thru March 2019.
Our goal for 2019 though is to spay neuter 100 dogs and cats a month. We are on a mission to save innocent lives. We need your help in raising funds for our mission. Please if you believe in what we are doing we are asking for your help. No amount is too small. https://www.paypal.me/tricityanimal
