Happy 2nd Birthday to our Hudson! He sure lights up our world with those big eyes and that smile of his. Hudson is the sweetest, charming, and funniest little man. He spent his special day doing what he loves most and that was riding his new tractor!! He also loves helping with all chores on the farm! We love him tons!! 🎂🚜💙🎉🤠

Hey guys! I have a very busy last couple weeks working as a Counselor in two awesome local elementary schools. I am also having to coordinate and prioritize my family (horses and foal included) and their needs and schedules as well. With that being stated, I will resume with limited private riding lessons beginning in June 2024. Thank you for understanding! I will see you in the saddle this Summer!! ❤️🐴

Our new Paso Fino foal, Charlee is so precious!! She loves running free and then plops down in the middle of the pasture when she’s tired haha. I could watch these two for hours!! Gabby’s BFF, our Dora is also with them, and she’s being the best Aunt to Charlee. My Grandpa has to be smiling down! 💗

We are just loving our 1st foal on the farm, Charlee! She’s one week old today, and such a cutie and a ham!! She enjoys playing (running around like she has the zoomies) sleeping, eating, and for some reason peeing on Mom’s hay!! Haha What a stinker. It’s a good thing she’s so cute 💜🦄

Nothing like some equine therapy after a long day of school! Nina and Gretchen came out to ride our sweet and gentle Unicorn, Dora the Explorer and loved getting to meet our new foal, Charlee!! These young ladies had so much fun! ☀️🦄💕🐴

What an awesome day at the barn! Our equine student, Della who was so afraid to even sit on a horse last year is now thriving and in her element with our Grandpa of the farm, Mario! Look at her and Mario go!! Della also got to love on our foal, Charlee today and learn how to properly handle her. Being around the horses can be so invaluable for beginners, children, and adults. ❤️🐴💕☀️

This is the natural gait of a Paso Fino horse. If you look them up on YouTube, you will see they are born with this gait. This is a hippodrome style of trick riding on our amazing, sweet, and talented, Dora!

What a fun and beautiful day we had at K&B Liberty Farms! We had a lot of success with horseback rides on our Paso Fino horses; Unicorn, Dora the Explorer and our infamous Old Man Mario, and some special performances up our sleeve. This is the natural and amazingly smooth gait of a Paso Fino horse!!! If you had a blast in the saddle today, and have family pictures you took with our horses, please feel free to share with us below!
Also, a special thank you to those that made this happen today for the kiddos and families to enjoy a horseback adventure and that is my hubby, Alex Derthick, Carol Derthick, and my ladies that helped lead horses around and volunteer their efforts and time,Jill Dyer, Debbie Wagner, and Pamela Sewer. It takes a village! We sure loved seeing all the smiles, and lots of laughs!! I really enjoy seeing the connection horses have with people and the fact that can enable our confidence! National Help a Horse Day on April 26th each year encourages horse lovers and advocates to join forces and protect abused and neglected horses. The day raises awareness of the need for horse sanctuaries and rescues.

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals founded National Help a Horse Day to bring awareness and promote the prevention of abandoned, neglected, and abused horses across the country.

With over 200 breeds, these spirited animals give humans much to love. Their loyalty and devotion throughout history may only be a portion of the reasons to help and love them. Not just a means of transportation, horses cleared fields, fought wars, and moved cattle. Beyond their utility, their companionship was indispensable long lonely trails. Cattlemen, pioneers, and more recognize horses as cornerstones of survival in a burgeoning nation.

HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL HELP A HORSE DAY
- Equine rescues and sanctuaries across the country hold events celebrating the horse. The events raise awareness and advocate for abused and neglected horses across the country.
- Support a horse rescue near you.
- Volunteer or donate to the cause.
- If you're able to adopt or foster a horse, visit a rescue and find out more.
- Visit the ASPCA to get involved. They offer resources and events to help you actively contribute to a horses' life.
- Use to post on social media.

Papaw brought Emmy (6) out to the barn this afternoon for a horse back riding adventure with our Mario! Emmy did such a great job practicing all important fundamentals, and even felt confident to go faster!! These two had fun! Keep up the awesome work, Emmy!! 💕🐴☀️

It was Charlee’s 1st time exploring the world and going outside today! She loved it!! We put Mama Gabby and her in our dry lot/riding arena to keep close eye on them. Charlee played, ate, slept and repeated that process!! ❤️

Happy Spring and happy riding! It was a beautiful afternoon to be in the saddle. Della (9) is overcoming her fear and gaining more confidence riding our sweet and gentle old man, Mario!! She nailed the fundamentals today, and I’m so proud of her for having the courage to get back out there and control a big horse. Fantastic leadership skills today, & way to go Della! ☀️🐴💗

Introducing our 1st foal on the farm! 🎉🎉🎉

A strikingly beautiful buckskin Paso Fino Filly, Charlee Reign arrived in the middle of the night! We are so ecstatic!! Mama, Miss Gabriella handled it like a champion and delivered in 6 minutes. We were so fortunate as we had cameras on her, and once we saw her lay down, we ran out there to assist. We were able to get Charlee nursing, and stayed with them until she could stand and take on the world. Our Veterinarian will be out to do an exam and make sure Mama and baby are healthy and happy! We are over the moon with sweet Charlee. She is named after my Grandpa Chips/Charles who was so special to me. Her registered name will be Queen Charlee and/or La Reina Charlee. Please keep them in your prayers today! 💜

Papaw enrolled Caroline back up for horseback riding lessons, and she is building more and more confidence! Caroline did an amazing job in the saddle today, and picked right up where she left off. She rode our sweet and gentle unicorn, Dora the Explorer. Keep up the great work, Caroline!! Dora can’t wait to see you again soon! ☀️🦄💕🐴

A shout out to this kind young lady, Vivian for thinking of our horses over Christmas and getting them a Tractor Supply gift card to make sure they are well fed and cared for properly! They are going to love the extra sweet treats (alfalfa cubes) and grain!! You rock Vivian Hawkins! Thank you so much for thinking of us💗🐴🌲

We are thrilled that our Dora was chosen to honor our loved ones in heaven at the Grand National Paso Fino Horse Championships in Ocala Florida this week. Here’s to you Grandpa Chips! ❤️

Happy 4th of July to you and your families! God bless America!! Our Paso Fino Horse, Dora (Prometedora de Besilu) is truly magnificent and special! We are so blessed to have her. Here we are this past weekend performing at the Bluegrass Triple Crown at the Kentucky Horse Park. 💥🇺🇸🦄❤️💥

Triple Seven being conditioned by his owner, Dr. Hill! We gotta get these two to show!! They make a magnificent team! Triple Seven has won several National titles with my Aunt Catherine, and I think someone is going to steal her horse!! This awesome Stallion is who Gabby is in foal to. Hopefully, Dora will be in foal to him soon as well. Ironically, Dora is in the background looking out the stall window watching him in this video… drooling over her man!! Haha We are excited for this venture. And way to go Josh! Now go in that ring and beat my Aunt Catherine!! ❤️🤠

Although my husband beat me in a championship class at the horse show this past weekend and hasn’t stopped talking about it lol… I thought I’d get him back and I’ll leave this here for laughs! But as you can see from the videos the horse shows are so fun for the whole family and free for spectators!!

It was definitely meant to be… Our Gabriella de Notorio (Gabby) is really learning to trust me, and getting used to her new forever home. This mare is truly phenomenal! We are sooo lucky to have her. Love her tons! St. Louis, here we come!! 🦄💕💫
