Mama Silk and her babies. Silkie hens are the best mamas! Not only are they arguably cuter than other chickens but you can oftentimes give a silkie hen an egg not of their own, such as a duck or other type egg, and she will put on her mama hat no questions asked! Thankfully this will be this mama's last hatch for a while because Cookie *our rooster* wants his hen back lol.😍

They are exceptionally friendly birds, both my hens and rooster have great temperaments. Any crossed offspring by my rooster also have good personalities.

Peppered hen. Here is a very special hen of the peppered to see. Ihave only had this color once so far and even in the afterbreeding there was no one that looks like it. She is very well camouflaged with her brown/orange color in the foliage. I'm curious if there will be one next year.

Sally, current top hen (I think) A beautiful cream legbar with distinctive curly toes. She is approaching seven years old now but is still a very reliable layer of gorgeous blue eggs. It must be time for her henopause before too long, time for a well earned retirement. She is a very bold and bright chicken, as you can see from her expression here. love this breed.

Best friends, buddies, soulmates..all of these apply to Nugget and Pekka.. we bought them home together at one day old and hand raised them together. These 2 are pretty inseparable and hang out together, groom each other and run the flock together. It's so sweet to see them and how they genuinely love each other.. to see a few of their monments

Pekka is a Gold Laced
Wyandotte and is 2 and a half years old.. she was my first
girl and we raised her from the day she hatched.. I think
this is why she's probably the friendliest of all the airls.

My Little cuties! Growing up so tast. It
my husband would have told me years ago I would be
obsessed with chickens like I am now I would not believe
him ( chickens was his hobby not mine. But ever since we
