Before and after of my 2 dogs reacting to the vac, did this during my lunch break (30 mins) does your dog have anything it reacts to? Drop me a message we will get it sorted 🙂
Lead training
Hello everyone sorry I’ve been inactive here, I’ve been having some home reneovations, I’ve finished this now so am back to taking bookings, please see the video below of my youngest pup benji who I worked with today (FINALLY ) for 10 minutes whilst my partner was in a shop, he was a DRASTIC puller, but as seen below you can see how much progress I’ve made in such small time, if you’re dog is a lead puller let me know ! I’d be happy to help 🙂
Not uploaded anything for a bit, been working with both my dogs to have better obedience outside, with help from Georgia Coggings of course on her lunch breaks! Can see from this video they’re picking it up and do as told pretty much first time 🙂 got a while to go yet tho!
Bella the golden retriever
Video of Bella below, we worked on lead walking ( and recall off video ) obviously to start off we get into her head that the lead needs to be slack, this was done in the garden as a low distraction area, so we can get her full focus, once Bella’s owner is confident that she stays close to her in the garden she will then take her onto the street and do the same on there! I look forward to getting back in touch to see how she is getting on in the coming weeks 🙂! Stunning dog too 🐶
Barney and benji
Due to benji being Ill with the virus, training hasn’t been at the front of my mind as much recently with him, just a few little bits here and there, a video here of georgia doing a ‘ quick fire round ‘ with him, as you can see benji is a very quick learner! Does the command first time and promptly! All it takes it a little bit of training here and there being consistent. Also giving props to barney who waits patiently whilst the training is going on, he’s always rewarded with his favourite toy, of course after working for it 😉
Zeus the GSD
Had a session with Zeus the German Shepard puppy this morning, working on crate training and recall, Zeus’ owner mentioned they have a bit of trouble leaving him in his crate, we touched base on how to make this a positive place for him and how to build up the time he’s left alone! Zeus is such a quick learner I wish my boys picked stuff up as quick !
Recall
Had a second session today with Piper, we worked on recall - at first we couldn’t find what motivated her, we then realised affection is where she thrives best! The below video shows piper coming back to her owner even around distractions of other dogs, very impressive to see considering her age and the distractions around her ! Whenever she isn’t to come back a little pop of the slip lead guided her in the correct decision ! Lovely to see how quickly she picked it up. 🐶
Second session of the day! ✅
Was with connie and ash with there 3 year old rescue Dudley, who pulls on the lead - Dudley made great progress within the hour and as you can see from the video is now walking pretty nicely on the lead… few bits to work on such as applying pressure when loosing attention and trying to pull but connie and ash are both going to work on this throughout the next week and let me know how They got on!
Video of georgia training barney ‘ touch’ where he touches your hand with his nose, he his will help with recall if practiced outside too with a longline ! He had only been doing this 2 minutes prior to this video and is already getting the grasp of it! All it takes is 10/15 mins a day of training to mould the perfect dog 🙂
Demonstration of a ‘party trick’ barney know ‘ leave it’ this is a pretty fun trick to teach your dog as well as having a strong ability to leave unwanted objects when told to!
Short video to show door threshold - always a good idea to set boundaries and thresholds whilst the puppy is young, to set them up for success in later life ! You see in the video he does come to the door but he will not step out unless told to - This can still be done for older dogs - it’s just a tad more challenging !
Any issues give me a shout ! 🙂
Short video of my walk with barney today - recently started the process of no pulling on the lead - all came down to the use of the lead and the positioning on his neck, I can now happily hold the lead with 2 fingers and feel 0 tension - shortness instead of tightness always on the lead!
