💡 It was surveyed that 63% of dog owners gave their dog dental chews regularly making them one of the most common doggy dental-care methods.
Dental chews can be effective at reducing plaque and tartar build up, but a good brushing routine will give the best results.
🦮 There are numerous varieties of dental chews out there, most rely on the shape of the chew to scrub at plaque and tartar while your dog chews, and some have natural or chemical active ingredients to help.
By far the most common dental chews are Dentastix. The ingredient that carries out cleaning action in these dental stix and other similar chews is Sodium Tripolyphosphate (STTP) or E451.
Fortunately there are better alternatives than typical dental chews.
🌿 We recommend looking for dental chews with simple, natural ingredients. Chews that are tough and abrasive are the best for cleaning teeth as your dog will have to really work hard to eat them. In that chewing process, the chew will naturally scrape off plaque.
🐶🐶🐶 IZZY’S NATURAL DOGGIE TREATS are one of the reasons so many customers whose dogs suffer with dental problems use our products.
Our treats are a fantastic natural choices for tackling plaque and tartar in dogs.
They have naturally abrasive textures, they're single ingredient, and so don't have any of the unwanted ingredients or artificial additives common in other treats.
If you notice that your dog is showing signs of dental disease, it is recommended to visit your vet asap to get your dog’s teeth and gums checked out. It’s better to tackle any issues at the early stages.
If you have any questions send us a message and we'll ping you back with a response. 🤗🤗🤗
Pedigree - I’m am livid! 😡🤬😡🤬
Pedigree’s new Rachos - ‘Made with 100% chicken or beef’
This only has to mean the chicken used is chicken breast.
When we look closer, only 16% of the treat is chicken ⁉️
AND
45% is R A W H I D E ‼️
Pedigree believe every dog deserves ‘leading nutrition, care, and treats’. So let’s honour that and NOT buy the 💩 that is Pedigree!
Let’s take a closer look at the other ingredients too!
Tapioca Starch
Tapioca (sometimes called cassava) is a starch
extracted from the root of the cassava plant.
It is often used as a carbohydrate source in grain
free dog foods but due to its general lack of all
nutrients other than starch, it is generally
regarded as a low grade filler for dogs.
Soy Sauce
Can dogs eat soy sauce? The answer is no, but
not because of the soy content. Soy sauce is
loaded with sodium, and ingesting too much
sodium could make your pet quite ill. If you
ever find that your dog has licked up some soy
sauce, make sure your pet drinks plenty of
water.
Sucrose
This is added to dog food and treats as it improves palatability and helps ensure the product retains its texture and softness throughout its shelf life.
Rapeseed Oil (also called canola oil)
Certain oils are anything but safe for dog
consumptions. Adding such oils to your dog food or treat can cause adverse effects on your pet's health.
Canola oil is believed to cause Vitamin E deficiency, retarded growth, and shortened life span in animals. There are also concerns that
Canola oil is registered as an approved
pesticide with EPA, which makes it unfit
for pet consumption.
As I always insist, you don’t have to buy from me, but please check the ingredients of the treats you’re buying off the shelves. And do not give your dogs rawhide‼️🤬🤬
