Here are 5 tips to keep your pet safe and calm during a storm! ⛈️

1. Create a safe haven! 💙 Thunder can be scary, choose a room where they can go to get away from the noise. Add their favorite toys and blankets to provide a sense of security. 🎶 Music or TV can be used to drown out the noise as well!

2. Keep them distracted! 🧩 Puzzles and other interactive games can be used to lower stress levels.

3. Keep them indoors! 🏡 When some pets get spooked by loud noises, they may make a run for it! Make sure they are kept multiple doors away from the front.

4. Identification tags and microchips increase the chances of a safe return in case your pet takes off! 🐾

💙 Anuenue and Kemushi had their first vet visit today and both got microchipped!

💭 According to the AVMA, microchipped cats are 38.5% more likely to return to home versus 1.8% for non-microchipped cats.

💭 Many veterinarians recommend adopting kittens in pairs due to their social behaviors. Being around another cat in their developmental stages can improve their overall wellbeing! ✨

💭 About one in five pets go missing during New Year’s Eve! Microchipped pets are three times more likely to return home after getting lost!

✔️ If your pet is already microchipped, double check that all your information is accurate

🏡 The safest place for your pet to be during fireworks are indoors! Be sure to keep your doors closed and fences locked in case your pet takes off!
