Happy World Enrichment Day! 🐾

Providing your dog or cat with enrichment helps with their mental and physical health, encourages natural behaviors, and may prevent behavioral issues, by allowing them to express their frustration in a variety of ways.

💭 Some of our favorite forms of enrichment for dogs are puzzles, lick mats, setting up scavenger hunts with their food, and playing games, including fetch, tug-of-war, and hide-and-seek!

💭 Some of our favorite forms of enrichment for cats are food-filled toys, vertical spaces (cat trees), and scratching surfaces!

It’s Animal Pain Awareness Month! Today we will be talking about stomatitis 🦷

Stomatitis is a dental disease affecting both cats and dogs, but is more common in cats🐈 It is a chronic condition diagnosed by an oral exam and is treated by undergoing general anesthesia to remove the tartar and extract any diseased teeth.

Routine dental evaluation by your veterinarian is recommended in order to keep your cat healthy and comfortable!

Meet Kopa’a, a 15 week old English Bulldog! 🐾

💭 When puppies reach 6 to 8 weeks old, their deciduous, or puppy teeth will erupt.
The puppy teeth will begin to fall out as permanent adult teeth erupt and replace them usually between 4 to 6 months! 🦷

Toys like Kopa’a’s will help provide a safe method to aid their teeth coming out and ease related pain 🐶
