Okra still produces in Texas even at the end of a brutal summer! Here is some okra I pan fried in cassava flour, corn meal, spices and olive oil. I used Wasabi Mustard Microgreens as a garnish, and blended a bunch into mayo to make a spicy-superfoods, wasabi dipping sauce. It was yummy and zingy!!! Hey y’all! Friday, June 27th, I had a hiking accident and broke my right ankle, and possibly my left (although it appears to just be badly sprained). I have an ortho (ankle specialist) appt. tomorrow, June 6th, and hope to find out more! I am actually feeling pretty good (I don’t even need ibuprofen at this point), but have to keep them elevated and am using a wheelchair to get around. So! I will be out of commission for a bit, as far as Markets are concerned, but hope to be back in the not too distant future! I will miss y’all, in the mean time. I should have some of my Microgreens Kits, as well as available for purchase off my website soon, so will keep you all posted. I have had so much support from loved ones over the past week, my heart is full and my spirits are strong! Thank you so much everybody ♥️

Had to try out Jinx Bread’s Scrumptious Sourdough! It was amazing pan toasted with butter, and layered with fried egg and broccoli microgreens 🤤This bread is healthful too! He only uses 3 ingredients: heritage flour, water, and salt, and it tastes amazing ♥️

I love this colorful mix of poppies ‘Shirley Poppy Mix’…they come in beautiful combinations of shades in whites, corals, reds and pinks. I have these seeds available. This beauty re-sowed itself from last season! Let me know if you’d like some, and I will package them up for market : ) If you are one of the few that see this post, and do like it, please go ahead and press the like button 🤣 The algorithms suck on here, so every bit would help. Peony Poppy! Drought and late freezing temperatures caused a late/dampered spring here in Central Texas. I haven’t had the time to tend my garden as I would like this year, but this variety of poppy doesn’t give a care. I collected these seeds from a flower over a decade ago, spread them in my garden, and they come back every year 😍 I believe it is Papaver somniferum, Pink Peony Poppy.

‘A heads up for bird lovers ... A highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) - or especially severe bird flu - is causing sickness among both domestic and wild birds across the United States. So the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota sent a tweet yesterday recommending that people in states with HPAI take down their bird feeders and bird baths for a couple months this spring to help decrease the spread of this virus. 🐦’

Hebicides. They cause Cancer and so much more. Use alternative methods to big chem's $ maker. W**ding tools, 3-4" layer of mulch, thick professional w**d guards (not the junk at Home Depot-tried it, didn't work), and keeping 'w**ds' cut back before they go to seed are the way to go. Oh, and "W**d and Feed" builds up and will kill your trees, as well. So unnecessary. Call an Organic Pest and Lawn Company with excellent reviews, if you don't D.I.Y. your yard, or you can be certain you, your plants, pets and family are exposed to these deadly chemicals regulary. Native Texas Mountain Laurel Time! Not only one of the most beautiful plants (and best smelling), it was also a huge part of our areas Native American's spirituality/religion and culture. It was used in ritual, healing, medicine, jewelry, clothing and ceremony. I’m making some jewelry out of their stunning red seeds♥️🌳💫 Note: It is poisonous. Do not consume (duh)!
