Cobalt is continuing Education with me!
Cobalt has found a home and he will be continuing training here with me for the next several months to get him under saddle. We have our work cut out! Lots of calm repetition until it’s boring! I have full faith he’s going to be a nice horse, he just needs time and patience.
A horse in the house
I think I’ll do training from inside today! Currently 6’ F outside! This cute little mare will be for sale soon! She will make a greats kids step up pony! Please don’t tell my husband I brought her in the house!
Teaching Cleo the Lay Down

❄️saddles English and western
❄️taken a bit several times
❄️knows showmanship basics - trots in hand, pivots, backs, sidepasses away and towards you
❄️learning to “pick up” from mounting block
❄️respectful of space but wants to be with his person
❄️lowers his head on command
Cons
Cobalt is a more sensitive type and would be best matched for a home that has experience bringing along young horses.
He has so much try and always aims to please but if pushed too far he tends to go into flight mode. As he gained confidence, this has diminished. He has never offered to kick, bite, or strike. Very loving guy! I will be picky where he goes.
He’s a super sporty Mustang and I could definitely see him excelling in the English world as a dressage, jumper, or eventer. Tons of videos on my page and can also send them to you. Asking 1,🥕🥕🥕obo to the best home.
Student of the week post!
This week the shout out goes to Keenie! This girl has been working with for some time now and she is really starting to nail her posting which is no easy task when also riding independently. This young lady has a bright future of riding independently front of her! In January she will be graduating to the hour sessions! Honey is such a saint and a favorite in the barn.
Mustang Aspen slaying the day chasing some cows! 6th ride and just 2 months from holding! Very proud of how this young mare has come along! She will be ready for her forever home before I know it!
For Adoption - Mustang Monty
Located in Medway, OH
Very cute 15 hh started Mustang from Black Rock, CA needing a new address! This cute boy was started my a 12 year-old student of mine and he’s been awesome! (Just because he was started by this 12 year-old doesn’t mean he should be finished by your 12 year-old. This is an exceptional 12 year-old we are talking about) He is 4 years old and ready for his person. He was supposed to compete in the Americas Top Youth Challenge in Lexington in September but his owner doesn’t have the time she was planning on with 5 other horses at home.
He is one of the nicest movers I’ve seen and naturally carries himself with poise. He would excel as a hunter, dressage, foxhunting, or jumper. He’s under saddle at the walk and trot but she has not yet cantered him. He is ready though! Needs a little more work at picking up his back feet but well started.
He loads in the trailer, stands tied, tacks, rode bareback, has been hosed off.

Training vs Lifelong Habits/behaviors
You can train a horse something in a day but it takes days of repeating the process and getting the same results to create a a habit that will stand the test of time. Trailer loading is one of these things. Consistency and patience win the race.
Some people wonder why they don’t see huge leaps and bounds after sending their horse to a trainer for 30 or more days. It’s probably not because they weren’t taught “the things,” but more likely because the timeframe wasn’t long enough to form a consistent pattern of behavior. Work with your trainer as often as you can so you can learn the cues and techniques they are using to continue to process of making the horse when he or she returns from training.
Trailer loading has seemed to be the thing in this batch of client horses. I’m getting my fill of training loading! Rory has many more days of loading in his future!

I bought my horse a beanbag! Next step is to sit down with me on him! Ace is such a smart boy!
Student of the week! This week’s shoutout goes to Gracie! This girl has such a kind heart. She loves the horses and tries her best to understand their needs. We’ve have been working on riding posture which isn’t always fun, but Gracie always has a good attitude and the hard work is showing itself! She even got to try her first canter in her last lesson. Her favorite horse is Honey and they certainly make a good pair! Congratulations to Gracie on Student of the week!
Welfare check on my “dead” horse. I have received several texts and calls over the past year regarding my horse “dying,” “foundering,” “colicing,” “taking his last breaths,” etc… I promise this is a daily occurrence. He loves his after breakfast naps. He just happens to be dramatic about everything he does. Including napping. Happy Monday folks! Hopefully this brightens your day!
