Too hot for the seafront today so Scamp went to Abbot's Wood for a nice shady walk.

Came across Eastbourne Doggy Daycare enjoying the cool waters in the lake.

Remember it only costs £40 for an annual parking permit that allows you to park at Abbot's Wood, Butchers Hole, Friston Forest and the Seven Sisters Country Park. A great bargain and gives you a lovely cool alternative place to walk on these long, hot, summer days.

Scamp loved the dog friendly art exhibition 'The Number 12 Stops Here' being held at the Pump Barn, Exceat by today. She bought her mum a beautiful notebook.

Lots of wonderful affordable art, the exhibition is on until 11th August 10am to 4.30pm. Why not take your woof?

FUNDRAISER FOR HAPPY CLAWS AND PAWS LOUIS LEGACY: SPAY, NEUTER AND RELEASE PROGRAMME

A Happy Claws and Paws dog treat recipe book. £3 each including p'n'p. This would make a great stocking filler for your dog loving friends. 20 recipes in this A6 booklet.

Payments to [email protected] (for friends and family please) and dm this page or email your address to [email protected].

This spay and neuter programme is vital to reduce the numbers of dogs being born to a terrifying and dangerous life on the streets in Bosnia. Louis Legacy also offers low cost spay and chip services to local per owners there who are on a low wage and cannot afford this service themselves.

Spay and neuter programmes are a cause we passionately believe in.

Little Petra (featured in our profile picture) was found abandoned with her little puppies. The puppies had died and Petra had lost all her fur. She was probably abandoned because her owners could not face the veterinary costs associated with her pregnancy.

The Louis Legacy project aims to prevent 1 million deaths over 6 years. This is because one pair of unneutered dogs and their subsequent litters can produce up to 6000 dogs.

So why not buy a recipe book? Only £3 ...and support this vital project.
Many thanks.

This is going to be great. Copies of the Friends of Eastbourne Seafront Dog Friendly Guide will be available there.

Man’s best friends and their owners are all invited to the first ever Chatsworth Dog Fayre taking place in Eastbourne in November.

The Chatsworth Hotel on the town’s seafront will play host to the event on Sunday 5 November from 1pm-5pm.

The event is being held to raise the profile of Eastbourne as a dog friendly destination and is one of several projects funded by the Visit Eastbourne Tourism Development Fund – a £15,000 pot to subsidise new initiatives, which help to increase footfall and visitor spend in the town.

The fayre will include pet portrait photograph sessions, pet first aid training, dog grooming demonstrations, doggy competitions, dog treats and a tombola, with dog food and pet fashion brands such as Butternut Box and Overglam Dog Fashion & More in attendance. Entry to the fayre is free to well behaved dogs and their owners.

The event is part of a weekend programme of activities at the hotel, offering accommodation packages and dog walking tours via DogFriendly.co.uk – where dog owners can also vote for Eastbourne as the most dog friendly destination (vote closes 31 October).

It takes place as a new Dog Friendly Guide is published, which will appear both online at VisitEastbourne.com and in print and distributed by the Friends of Eastbourne Seafront welcome team, Seafront Office and Eastbourne Visitor Centre.

The guide is a directory of all things dog friendly in Eastbourne and the surrounding areas.

Councillor Margaret Bannister, Eastbourne Borough Council’s Lead Member for Tourism, Leisure, Accessibility & Community Safety, said, “This is going to be an amazing event for our four-legged friends and their owners, and will showcase what a really dog friendly destination Eastbourne is.

“The VisitEastbourne Tourism Development Fund is all about partnership working and how by working together we can amplify our message to visitors and provide impactful results, highlighting the fantastic town that Eastbourne is and what it has to offer to wider audiences. I am delighted to see it working in action.”

In addition to dog friendly projects the Fund also supported the launch of new event A Taste of Victoria Place, which showcased the restaurant community in August, and will be supporting several other projects between now and December.

Applications were open exclusively to current members of Visit Eastbourne – managed by Eastbourne Borough Council’s Tourism & Culture team.

It's here! A small print run of the Friends of Eastbourne Seafront Dog Friendly Eastbourne directory, designed by the amazingly talented Amanda Ripley and funded by the Visit Eastbourne Development fund, will be available at the Give a Dog a Home reunion walk tomorrow Saturday October 7th from 12.30pm at Cuckmere.
The guide is free but we do ask that you consider making a donation to support our work, including further print runs of the guide. On this occasion we will be sharing any donations with Give a Dog a Home and the Ghost Dogs of Aspropyrgos, the two rescues who saved little Petra (to whose memory the guide is dedicated and whose black silhouette is heavily featured) from the streets.
Do bring along plenty of cash as there will also be a stall selling plants, Charity Christmas cards, vegan nibbles and many other things.
Join in the walk (£10 to register) and have a great time meeting many other dog minded people.
