Calathea rufibarba plants for sale.

A gorgeous must-have addition to any house plant collection, native to Brazil.

The leaves are green on top and a beautiful purple-red underneath. Also known as Furry Feather or Calathea Velvet, due to the lovely soft furry feel of the leaves.

A real statement plant, it can grow up to a metre tall.

Four plants for sale are between 25-40cm tall. Three smaller ones are $15 each and the large one is $2

Saskatoon berry plants for sale

Hard to find Canadian Saskatoon berry plants. Delicious berries, great for slices and crumbles.

A deciduous shrub or small tree. Very hardy and long-lived. Loves cold winters and hot summers.

Beautiful white flowers in spring.

Large Christmas cactus for sale - Flor de Maio

Beautiful indoor plant which flowers in winter! This one has gorgeous pink/apricot flowers - not currently in flower, picture of flower taken earlier this year.

Native to the coastal mountains of Brazil, this cactus doesn’t have spikes! In Brazil, it’s called Flor de Maio (May flower). Likes a warm spot in indirect light.

Large mature plant, 35cm high and 40cm wide.

A quirky-looking succulent. Fun to grow inside or out. Can grow up to 80cm tall, and will develop pink tinge if grown in bright sun. Small star-like flowers.

SHOWY STONECROP
Hylotelephium spectabile

A member of the crassulae succulent family. Native to China and the Korean Peninsula. Grey/green leaves and gorgeous pink flowers that attract butterflies and bees.

Can grow up to 45cm tall.

Plants are approximately 20cm tall and all are in bloom.

THE WORLD’S SMALLEST FUCHSIA - NATIVE!
Fuchsia procumbens / totera

This plant is rare in the wild, officially classified at risk.

A trailing plant, ideal for ground cover or in a hanging pot. The tiny flowers are truly stunning with yellow, blue and purple all on the one flower (see picture). Large red berries.

These are propagated from a large, healthy, vigorous plant.

Large plant (70cm across) = $20
Medium plants (30-40cm across) = $15

KANUKA
Kunzea ericoides

Native tree, very similar in appearance to Manuka although it is a different species. Kanuka is part of the myrtle family. Recently classified as endemic to Aotearoa. Attractive to native birds, especially the kākāriki parakeet.

Can grow up to 10m tall.

Plants are approx 15cm. $10 each or discount if multiple purchased.

We are thrilled to be back at the Oamaru Farmers’ Market tomorrow!

It’s succulent Sunday, so come get an easy-care but huge-reward plant. Also natives, rock orchids, clivia (as featured recently on Stuff https://i.stuff.co.nz/life-style/homed/garden/129952536/watch-out-dahlias-clivias-are-the-next-big-thing-in-kiwi-gardens), arabica coffee plants, and more.

Forecast is for a great summer market day! See you there.

They grow slowly, and some could take 10 years to flower. But there are many gardeners are falling for clivia's beauty and resilience.

UPDATE: due to an unfortunate incident I’m not going to be able to run a stall at the twilight market. I have lost a few plants I had ready to sell and have some significant repairs to do on my own garden 😔
