Dahlias are all woken up and some are 3 ft high - yikes! This weather needs to stop changing so I can get them all into the field. I also have more coming as plugs, so I might be in dahlia overload. 😂

We haven’t sold daffodils before, but perhaps we will next year before the markets start. Grampa plans to keep on planting them!

Digging sunchokes now. These lumpy bumpy vegetables cook and taste like potatoes but with 71% lower glycemic index. And juicier/ sweeter so even tasty raw. No need to peal, similar to new red potatoes.

Love seeing peonies coming up all over the farm. We have something like 5000 plants. My favorite is Festiva Maximus for the scent. But they are all amazing.

Ours isn’t a perfect farm. You know what I mean- flat expanse of uniform length rows without a tree around.

We like it this way! We don’t try and control everything - not that we could anyway.

Our collection of fields and gardens nestled in the woods leaves room for nature to do her thing. Like these marsh marigolds on the spillway to the creek.

Gramma Dee has been lovingly potting up heirloom tomatoes into the next size pots. She started 100s of these inside this winter and spring to bring you the sweetest and juiciest tomatoes. Heirlooms aren’t designed to travel across country so our varieties you’ll never find in a grocery store.

Come see us tomorrow! Winter market at Mtka city hall 10-2. We have lots of locally grown porch pot and decor materials, including dried flower ornaments. Also fresh potatoes, potted herbs, unique canned goods and maple syrup. Flower crowns for your special princess. Lovely framed and matted holiday season photos by grandma dee.

See us at mtka farmers market tomorrow 10-2 at city hall. We have fresh collards, potatoes, turnips, carrots, daikons and parsley, along with our unique canned items. Also dried flower bouquets, decor and crowns. Maple syrup and zucchini fruit snacks. And Dee’s framed and matted photos.
