These two are just the cutest duo! Have had the pleasure of having Phoebe and Spud the past two evenings to help build a rapport with them, with the aim of building up to overnight stays. Spud has some anxiety issues which his owners have worked incredibly hard to overcome and I’m so pleased to say he has handled the past two evenings like a pro 💪🏼🐾💕

For those who don’t know me I’m Rosie, owner of Burghley Park Equine and Pet Services. Burghley Park was first founded in 2012 when the first Miniature Horses joined our family. Having bred and competed at the highest level in Australia for 7 years, I decided to make the decision to move back to the UK in 2019 and Burghley Park Stud saw its doors close.

In 2022, I saw there was a gap in the Miniature Horse Industry in the UK and started offering my clipping and handling services and from there Burghley Park Equine Services was reborn. Now in 2024 I am branching out and furthering my services to include pet sitting. I have over 20 years’ experience with horses and small animals – 12 of which have been in a professional capacity within the equine industry and 2 years within the canine industry.

Whilst I no longer own horses, I have two dogs, Archie and Bertie, who are the light of my life and my whole world. Having recently worked in the canine rehabilitation sector, this has reinforced my passion for the rehabilitation of both dogs and horses. Ensuring those that have suffered an injury or are dealing with the effects of reduced mobility due to age, are able to improve and/or maintain their muscle mass and range of movement through hydrotherapy and/or physiotherapy.

I have a natural interest in those high-performance athletes (both equine and canine) and the impact that certain breeds are predisposed to, based upon their athletic activity. In addition, how confirmation impacts upon both the skeletal and muscular anatomy of the horse/dog.

My own dog Archie was diagnosed with degenerative lumbosacral disease and a mild protrusion of the L7-S1 disc at the age of 4 and half years old. Therefore, I have my own invested interest in rehab and know first-hand the positive impacts that both hydrotherapy and physiotherapy have. I always say my dogs get better treatment than myself!

Having worked in the equine, canine, education and publishing sectors, I decided to go back to university, and am currently studying a BSc (Hons) Bioveterinary Science at the University of Lincoln, where my long-term goal is to become a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist. I am always looking to further my skills and attributes, whilst staying up to date with industry legislation and upholding high standards of animal welfare. I am DBS checked, fully insured and hold a Level 3 in Canine Emergency First Aid and a Level 3 in Emergency First Aid at Work.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of doing a 1-2-1 clipping demonstration for some European clients. It was a fabulous afternoon, with lots of information and knowledge shared. Tony even managed to put what he had learnt straight into practice! Looking forward to seeing what 2025 brings for them all 🐴🤩🏆🏵️

A huge thank you to Molly of Mad as Hatters Dog Walks for allowing me to come and work with her last week. It was great to be able to see how Molly runs her own business, especially the logistic side of things and the services she offers.

Highly recommend Molly for all your dog walking and animal sitting needs for those in the Burton Upon Stather and Winterton areas. I love when small businesses come together and support each other 💕🐾

As we head into firework season please prepare yourself and your animals in the best way possible but also look out for each other. It’s always the dreaded season for any animal owner, especially with the unpredictability here in the UK as anyone over the age of 18 can buy fireworks. So if you’re thinking of doing your own fireworks display, how about considering attending an organised display instead 💁🏻‍♀️

Thank you to those businesses out there who do let the public know when and where they will doing their displays and any disruption this may cause to the local community. There are people out there who do the right thing and we thank you.

As fireworks night approaches, it's important to remember that loud noises and bright lights can be terrifying for horses and their owners.

If you're planning to celebrate, please be mindful of animals nearby. Consider quieter fireworks or attending organised displays away from rural areas.

Still smiling after a long day of clipping yesterday. Pictured is a mountain of hair (winter coats are finally upon us) and one of the smallest of the team, the lovely Rolo. These guys might be miniature but they sure are mighty 💕 Back again in a couple of days to do it all over again… but this time it’ll be that final show facial to finish them off 🐴🏆⚜️🏵️

It’s been a busy season for Minstrels Miniature Horses and they certainly haven’t disappointed; with their horses always in the winners circle. I have had the absolute pleasure of clipping for them all season since April and the season isn’t over just yet!

After having a groom do a substandard clip job (clipper lines galore) on their horses over the winter, Carol and Tolga have trusted both me and my process to get their costs right again and as they say the proof is in the pudding 💁🏻‍♀️ These horses are truly some of the best in the country and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for them all. Carol and Tolga have heavily invested in importing some top quality horses from the USA, setting out to continually improve the standard within the UK. It is fair to say the future is looking bright for Minstrels Miniature Horses. If you’re looking for you’re next champion to take you to the winners circle, definitely do not hesitate to contact them!🐴🏆🏵️🍾

Pleased to say all messages have been answered and bookings confirmed 🙌🏼 I’ve been so busy that I’m a little behind on posting some of my recent bookings that I have had the pleasure to do.

In April, I was booked for 4 show facials for DBF Miniature Horses. Huge congratulations to the whole team on their fantastic results - taking some of the top honours at both shows. These horses are always presented to perfection and are a true credit to the hard work and attention to detail of Charlotte and her team 🐴🏆🏵️💙

🐴⚜️ TERMS AND CONDITIONS ⚜️🐴
Please make sure you are aware of the below before booking any services as these apply to all bookings made.

✂️All services must be paid on the day of the appointment in full.

🧼 Horses/ponies must be bathed the day before or the day of your appointment. This is to ensure a nice clean coat which is free from dirt. A dirty coat causes more wear and tear to both my blades and my clippers and in many cases will cause a less than perfect clip job due to dirt lines. Any horse/pony that is dirty or wet will incur a £30 fee on top of the service price.

👷‍♀️Every effort is made to make sure that any clipping booking is a positive experience for both the horse/pony and owner/handler. If at any point a horse/pony becomes a danger to themselves, myself or the owner/handler the service may be terminated and full payment for the booked service must be paid. Please notify me at the time of booking if you have any concerns regarding your horse/pony being clipped, this is so I can allocate more time to the booking.

🚫Cancellations or a decrease in services booked with less than 48 hours notice will incur a 50% charge of the booking. This must be paid no later than the day of the appointment booking. Failure to pay by the appointment day will mean that no future bookings can be made until payment is received.

🚙 Travel charge is calculated per mile. The first 30 miles are included in your booking, any mile there after is charged at a set rate. I currently service the Lincolnshire area, however I do travel up to 2-3 hours away dependent on numbers.

📷 It is always nice to take before and after pictures of your horses/ponies. If you would prefer your horse not to be posted on social media please do let me know; I will always check with owners that they are happy with the photos before posting.

📒My diary does fast fill up especially with my regular clients. If you have your horse/pony on a livery yard, do ask if others are requiring clipping services as this saves me travelling twice and makes the cost of travel cheaper for everyone involved - travel is split amongst everyone who has booked a service.
