⭐️ After a hiatus of over 7 months due to a large abscess in a front foot, Marvel - aka Sparkys Shining Doll went down to Waco this past weekend and showed everyone he still has what it takes! Marking a 72 1/2 and winning the Open and Int Open classes with his World Champion partner Tyrel Pole back in the saddle ⭐️

⭐ Although he doesn't carry much white markings himself, we noticed a lot of Marvel's offspring coming out with large white stars or blazes on their faces and often white leg markings from nearly solid mares. ⭐

🤔What does this mean? The W20 mutation is often referred to as a "𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫". This means Marvel has the ability to potentially throw white markings and extra white when combined with a mare with splash or "W" alleles herself.

Somewhere in this journey of highlighting some of the standout horses we have sold, we knew we had to tell the story of Marvel aka Sparkys Shining Doll.

🦄They say it just takes one horse, well Marvel was and is OUR ONE HORSE 🦄

Sired by Friday Night Shiner and out of the mare BB Holly Doll (PE $150k+). Marvel came to us in a story fit for the movies.

Prior to our purchase of him, Marvel had been a success with his breeders of Santa Hill Ranch, Bob & Arlene Santagata. As a 3 year old, Marvel on his maiden voyage into the show pen marked a TREMENDOUS 153 in July with Dean Brown in the saddle claiming his first of many victories at The Pink Ribbon Reining Level 4 Open Futurity. Soon after that win he also claimed the Reserve Championship in the Darling Ranch 888 Level 4 Open Developing Futurity again with Dean. He was sold to Emily Coultrap who continued to win on him and brought his earnings up into the $30k range including the NAAC Limited Non Pro Championship.

🔹In late 2019, Marvel was sold at the Legacy Reining Breeders Sale, although at the time, we didn't notice this stunning Stallion at the sale, after a miscommunication with the original buyers, we had the chance to try him a few weeks after the sale. Once Ty sat in the saddle, we knew we had to move mountains to purchase him.🔹

🏆 Starting out 2022, we had no plans or ideas of what the year had in store, but 2 World Championships and a Reserve World Championship later, Marvel had proven himself beyond our expectations. 🏆

The moral of the story...we've never x-rayed this horse, we purchased him on a single ride for a price tag less then $30,000...sometimes we all have to be open minded.

💥 X-rays do not make a good horse and a good horse is not defined by his or her x-rays 💥

We didn't overthink it, he was sold a few times before we bought him, but he fit us and anyone else's opinion of him was irrelevant to our decision that he was the right horse for us. He was priced for less then his LTE, we didn't let us think that meant anything was wrong with him. He has been an outstanding, incredible show horse, who gives us his all every time we enter the pen, he's won over so many people because of his intensity and athleticism in all his maneuvers. Now we wait to watch the next chapter in the "Marvel Universe" unfold with his first crop of foals turning yearlings in the new year.

He was literally the defining action of our business, Blue Collar Horse Company. Now we continue to offer him and all of our stallions to everyone at a Blue Collar stud fee with the option to finance, we feel everyone should have the chance to own a good horse, and we sure are grateful for our chance to own this great one, Marvel.
