I normally see darling Poppy every 6 weeks but this time, it was a little longer since the last groom. She looked a little tousled but luckily her coat is still being looked after so well by her paw-rents that it was not matted at all. All her beautiful Bichon puffiness easily restored, and she is so happy now she can't stop smiling 😉!

These elderly siblings have regular pre-booked appointments every two months to keep them happy and healthy. They both enjoy the warm bath, and like to sit down a lot during the groom, so we take it slow and make sure they are comfy at all times.

Handstripping means removing dead hair from the coat... well, by hand. This practice is appropriate for certain breeds (eg wire haired coats). Benefits: It keeps the skin healthy, maintains the original rich coat colour, texture, and ensures maximum protection (the new coat will repel dirt and remain waterproof). Clipping those coats will change their texture, volume, colour and protective properties.

BUT DOESNT IT HURT...? Some dogs might not like the sensation, have sensitive areas (tummy, ears, etc) but it will not hurt your pooch when done correctly. Get in touch to enquire about hand stripping rates and appointments :-)!

Ted used to be extremely nervous when I first met him, clearly traumatised by previous grooming experiences and particularly terrified of the dryer - so much so that initially I had to towel dry him to avoid unhealthy stress levels. Regular visits, slow and gentle progress each time - and here he is a few months later chillaxing during his blow dry :-). 🥰

Spot the dog 🤣. Pepper after her Bath & Tidy which is alternated with the Full Groom every 4 weeks - a great way to keep on top of the coat condition ongoingly.

Honey has sadly passed over the Rainbow Bridge now. This is her before and after I first groomed her. She was an adorable doggy and I am grateful I met her and got to make her feel comfortable in her last few months. I cried a lot when I heard the news... that's the part of this job I really could do without 😢.

Rosie had to be done over two days as matting was too much to remove in one session without traumatising her. Very grateful the owner was understanding and agreed when at the end of day one they got back a half finished pooch 🤣
