📢 Ce mois-ci nous partons au Mali où nos équipes locales viennent de lancer un des produits phare de notre gamme, le COGLAVAX®️ ! 😉

📌 Le COGLAVAX®️ est le vaccin de référence dans le monde pour lutter contre l’entérotoxémie (mort subite) ainsi que de très nombreuses autres maladies clostridiennes (rein pulpeux, tétanos, charbon symptomatique, hépatite nécrosante, etc.)

✨ Nos équipes locales ont donc multiplié les actions de sensibilisation 🤝 sur le terrain :

✅ Réunion auprès de l’association des vétérinaires mandataires

✅ Sensibilisation des éleveurs de bovins et petits ruminants

✅ Formation auprès des cabinets vétérinaires de la zone

📌 Ces actions vont se poursuivre au cours des prochaines semaines afin qu’un maximum d’animaux soient vaccinés 💉 et protégés à l’approche de la saison de pluie 🌧, période à haut risque pour l’entérotoxémie.

🌨Le climat affecte la santé, la productivité et le bien-être de ruminants et joue un rôle crucial dans le rendement d’un élevage. Il est donc primordial pour les éleveurs d’adapter leurs pratiques.
🌡️ Rappelons que la zone de confort thermique d’une vache se situe entre 5 et 15°C.

📌Voici quelques principaux effets du climat sur les ruminants :

➡ Chaleur excessive ☀ : Les ruminants, et notamment les vaches, peuvent souffrir de stress thermique lorsqu'il fait trop chaud. Les animaux deviennent ainsi plus vulnérables aux maladies et leur productivité est réduite. La chaleur va aussi avoir un fort impact négatif sur la fertilité et l’expression des chaleurs.

➡ Froid extrême 🥶 : Par temps froid, les ruminants doivent utiliser plus d'énergie pour maintenir leur température corporelle, ce qui peut affecter leur efficacité alimentaire et entraîner des pertes de poids. Dans les cas extrêmes, le froid peut entraîner des engelures et des infections respiratoires.

➡ Humidité 💧: Un climat humide peut favoriser le développement de maladies respiratoires et de parasites externes comme les tiques et les mouches. Cela peut aussi rendre les pâturages plus boueux, ce qui peut entraîner des blessures et des problèmes de boiteries.

Prevention of enterotoxemia should aim to minimise risk factors while ensuring that animals are immunised with a vaccine that result in a high antibody response against the three major toxins.

Enterotoxemia is the consequence of the abnormal proliferation of Clostridium perfringens producing toxins that will damage the intestinal barrier.

📌 The main clinical sign of entorotoxemia is the “sudden death”.
The animal is found dead without clinical signs, or within 24h after the first clinical signs.

📌 Other clinical signs can be:
✅ Anorexia
✅ Hyperthermia (>40°C)
✅ Colic, diarrhea
✅ Meteorism
✅ Cyanosis
✅ Neurologic disorders

📌 Post-mortem, examination will show
✅ Rapid putrefaction
✅ Tympanism
✅ Hemorragic intestinal content

📢 As a global leader in cattle reproduction, Ceva Santé Animale is making significant investments to advance the artificial insemination industry in Africa.
Recently, Ceva successfully registered its complete range of hormones in Tanzania 🇹🇿, making them the only officially recognized cattle reproduction hormones in the country. 🏅

📌 Ceva proudly launched its cattle reproduction range at the annual TAVEPA (Tanzania Veterinarian Paraprofessional Association) scientific meeting, presenting to over 200 veterinarians, paravets and technicians.

Les escargots aquatiques 🐌jouent le rôle d’hôtes intermédiaires pour les larves de la douve, un parasite interne qui peut infecter le bétail, notamment les bovins et les ovins 🐄🐑.

Ces larves se développent à l’intérieur des escargots avant d’être libérées dans l’eau, où elles peuvent contaminer d’autres animaux.
💊 OKZAN est recommandé pour le traitement et le contrôle des parasites internes, et spécialement des douves.

Son association unique d’oxyclozanide et d’oxfendazole permet une efficacité renforcée dans le traitement et le contrôle des parasites internes, notamment les strongles digestifs et respiratoires 🫁, les paramphistomes 🪱, les douves et les ténias 🪱.

Progesterone is a steroid hormone produced mainly by the corpus luteum of the o***y after ovulation. Essential to the bovine reproductive cycle, it plays a major role in regulating the estrous cycle and maintaining gestation, thus guaranteeing the cow's fertility.🐄

Here are the main functions of progesterone:

1️⃣ Progesterone regulates the estrous cycle by blocking ovulation when the cow is pregnant ;
2️⃣ Prepares and stabilizes the uterus to accommodate and promote embryo development ;
3️⃣ Prevents the onset of new heats throughout gestation ;
4️⃣ And maintains pregnancy by keeping the uterus in ideal conditions for fetal development.
