I'll always have a moment to remember this gem of a dog. She was just incredible to groom and we had such a lovely bond.. I will miss her dearly!

**Polite notice**

During December I had to turn away a few clients with dogs having fleas. I had to close my salon twice and i took the decision as a preventitive to flea bomb weekly. This is very costly to the daily running of my salon and I am very strict with this rule because it has to be done for the protection of all my pooches that visit along with protecting my beautiful Paris and Ted. 🐕🥰🐕

Therefore I do ask you all to please ensure prior to appointment you check your pooch over. When I send out your reminder it does state that you do need to check your dog for fleas and matted fur.

Wolverhampton Pampered Paws flea policy:
I DO NOT not groom dogs with fleas as it is completely unfair on the possibility of cross contamination to other dogs that visit my salon and of course my own. If, half way through the groom I detect a flea I have to then close the salon, cancel appointments and thoroughly clean and flea bomb which is costly and time consuming. (This is a period of 3 hours)
The current flea charge is £10 this simply covers the professional products I use to clean the salon accordingly.

The best way to keep fleas abay is to use a preventive which is applied periodically. Please speak to your vet for the best option for your dog dependant on there size/coat and any allergy's they may have.

**Polite reminder**

During December's busy Christmas period I had a large number of poodle mix breeds that arrived heavily matted.

I worked so hard de-matting dogs over this period and some of you know that I went to great lengths avoiding a shave off. When actually a shave off is the kindest thing to do for the dog. Some evenings I worked well past close time, and there was disruption to other clients and their appointments, and I lost alot of my own family time.

This is unfair to the dog, the groomer and inconvenient to my other clients.

I cannot express enough the importance of brushing your dogs, especially prior to their groom appointment. The benefits are endless but here are the most important factors;

# Number 1 and the most important - The comfort and happiness of the dog throughout the groom. 🥰

# Protection of the skin and coat.

# Allowing the groomer and dog to retain a lovely bond.

# Allowing the groomer to see the skin clearly and offer continued monitoring for any skin conditions lumps/bumps etc...

# Allowing the groomer time to give the dog the dog a full groom.

# Protection of proffesional equipment.

# A much better finish.

I am a very kind, caring and patient groomer and most of you know that making sure the dog is comfortable/ happy overides how their finished look will be. When the dog gets upset so do I, this is a bond I have with most of my dogs that makes me love my job so much.

I use all the proffesional equipment that is very expensive. Matted fur blunts both blades and scissors making it costly to sharpen and/or replace.

A new policy from Wolverhampton Pampered Paws will be enforced over the next few months to help avoid this becoming a regular occurance.
