Check out 17week old Marley, his owners have been fantastic since day 1 and he is getting better each day such a smart little pup 🤩Bringing a new puppy home can be very overwhelming and hard work but training should start the day you bring your pup home before they start developing bad habits.
If you getting a new pup and intrested in one to one puppy training just message the page 😊
Albus (sorry didnt get photo) and jasper both had some sniffy walks today, love this time of year ideal for scattering favourite treats for them to sniff out 💛🧡🤎🍁🍂mental stimulation is really important for them😍
Bruce getting some nice loose lead reps in today 🥰🙌
It's a warm one today make sure you have some water for the woofs and keep them cool 🥵🐶
Sorry have been quiet, been very busy recently taken on some training cases last few weeks. However
**Warning** RANT coming!
Today while out I saw 2 separate ocassions with dogs dashing out of front doors, one ran right out into the road the owner screaming "Get here!!" and shouting at dog only made it worse as wouldn't go near him 😔. The other dog nearly pulled the guy over and hurt his arm being dragged out the door way, threshold/doorway training can be an absolute life saver for dogs, and is easy to teach a dog not to cross the threshold untill given the ok. The beautiful little Rocco has been doing since he was little and it's such a better state of mind for dogs to leave the house, check him look up waiting for the ok, next steps on this would be increasing distance and distraction, to proof the behaviour 👍 well done rocco
Oh jasper🥰🤩, he can be quite a nervous little man but loves a good game of fetch, today we did search games for his ball and treats, after doing some confidence building work getting nervous dogs to use thier nose more is calming for them aswell as great mental and physical exercise
Yesterday day got some impulse control and heal work in with Bruce it takes alot of control for him not to try grab the toy, and increasing distraction to heal work, next time may try some more impulse control work by throwing toy and teaching him wait for release to get it, absolutely love this big lad 🐾😍
Loose lead walking is possible! Before and after video
If your dog is constantly pulling ahead of you this can lead to reactivity and other problem's. The key is starting to learn heal before you even start taking your puppy for walks, But even for adult dogs it's possible. It's not a quick fix and work is needed from you to master it especially if your dog has been pulling for years, but please get in touch if you would like some help, this is just what can be achieved after 10min directional changes and some engament exercises.
Do you have a dog that's timid around new people ? ...
Please feel to pm page if you need help with some of your dogs behaviours. This video is me and jasper doing some engage and disengage work around strangers at a distance he can cope with.
This is just a short clip of some work I have been doing with jasper, he loves people once you have gained his trust but he gets anxious around strangers and very hand shy.
I have been advocating for him asking people not to touch or put hand out to him and doing alot of engage/disengage work around people aswell as confidence building, the first time I took him to town he would move away from people and seek comfort behind me. Small wins build confidence and he is coming along really well. His owner has done some fab work with him and seeing improvements too.
I was also told by a random stranger (that this is wrong and to make him like new people he needs to be stroked and loved by everyone!!! )
I can guarantee if you push a dog out of its comfort zone and don't watch the dogs body langue and cues that he isn't comfortable with people the dog will make the space the only way they can this can often be seen as reactivity.
Oh Bruce 😍, having a little break rolling in the frozen grass after some amazing heal work ❄️❄️
Honey really having to work her sence of smell today to find her ball, if you have a toy driven dog this is a fab way of tiring them out mentally and physically, basically pretend to throw the ball but then throw the other way and get to dog to search for it this took about 10 mins but just cut video down, you can make it harder by doing in longer grass too 🥰🐶
