them (and you) calmer alternatives. All sessions include healthy treats, games, and activities to keep your dog physically and mentally engaged, with plenty of handouts and support for you.

Jamie is always highly alert to our environment, especially when coyotes are rampant in the area. We didn’t see any coyotes today, but he sure smelled them. That’s why we both keep our eyes open.. which let me prevent him from walking snoot-first into the foxtails in the second photo. Situational awareness is a dog-walker’s friend!

In case you all were wondering, Shelby is still a very good girl. 🤩 She loves going on our outings so she can have special time just to herself. Today was a day to get out, stretch her legs, and enjoy some sniffing in the process.

Zuli was all smiles during our session! Our adventure today included deer to stare at and a very nice person who joined part of our walk. Zuli is one of my most social dogs, so having someone show her love is one of her favorite treats. I’m happy she was able to enjoy such a special outing.

Blossom held opinions on my choice of route. For some strange reason, I won't let her explore all of the nearby complexes and parking lots. “Trespassing” is something she fails to understand, along with reading. Despite our occasional disagreements regarding our course, we have fun on our explorations.

Meet Enzo! Enzo is the newest woof in our little family. He’s a rare social Shiba Inu, but we have plenty of work to do together. Like many Shibas, he is touch sensitive and has a background that makes him even more sensitive. I’m working with his mom to help him learn consent cues and that human touch, especially when grooming, isn’t something to be afraid of. I can’t wait to watch his trust grow! 😍

This is Moxie. She’s a sweet, enthusiastic adolescent girl who will eventually become a service dog. Right now, she’s focusing on mastering skills like not pulling on leash or jumping on people. She’s very smart. I can’t wait to see how far she goes!

If there's one thing Ruby loves, it’s posing on stations in front of gorgeous views! Show her a bench, and she'll jump on. It’s an excellent outlet for her athletic tendencies. Even better, we can use them as spots to rest during hot summer days.

Mondays are always a great time with Murphy and Bodie! These two love investigating their neighborhood, but love each other more. It’s always heartwarming to return and watch them romp around like puppies. 😍

This handsome boy was happy to get out for his adventure! Because Murphy and his brother are so strong, I walk them individually to give them the best experience possible. This also gives them some precious time apart for even a little while. With a busy household, it’s important to make sure each dog has his own time.

Basset behind bars. 😂 For some dogs, baby gates are helpful to keep them secured. Blossom was MOST displeased to return from our explorations to find the top of the stairs blocked off. The audacity of her parents constraining her to the cooler areas of the house. 😤

I’m moving this weekend, so life has been pretty chaotic! Thankfully, I have wonderful dogs like Zuli to work with. The energy she has as a borderdoodle means she regularly gets back from walks with plenty of energy left to play.

Jamie was filled with satisfaction after a fun outing. While on our walk, we encountered a trio of bucks. The last one stopped to stare at us in a way that could only be described as, “Come at me.” Jamie had to share his opinion and then happily allowed me to continue moving him along. I certainly understand why he would have an opinion and didn't chastise him for his response! We instead acknowledged what a jerk the deer was and moved on. 😆 When working with reactive dogs, I like to encourage people to understand that reactions are normal! What we don't like are the overreactions. Jamie could have escalated the situation but chose not to. Instead, we had a great outing where he came home ready to snooze.

Ruby was filled with energy and needed to enjoy some zoomies. We combined this with recall practice and opportunities to roll around and pose for the ultimate session together. By the time we made it back, she was much calmer and nothing but smiles. Just the way we like it! 😍

“Perch” is what we call Cubby’s two-paw station behavior. This skill is excellent to pause and take a breath, get out of the way of cars, and improves balance and coordination. He's come a tremendous way in developing trust and confidence during the past (almost) year. Way to go, Cubby! 😍

I love working with these two sweet boys! They are quite the bonded pair. I walk them separately to help manage their energy and focus. Otherwise, they amp each other up because of their shared excitement. It’s wonderful to catch this sweet moment of them together after our outings.

Sweet Karen is having a hard time with her mobility, but she loves fresh air and treats! Exercise IS an important part of enrichment, but certainly not all. That's why I cater each training session and dog walk to their needs and tastes, as well as the human agendas.

Shelby loves playing after our walks! Our play sessions help her know the fun isn't ending just because we're back. What a great smile on her face when we were all done. 😍

Ruby had a fabulous time running off some excitement during our visit! The weather was clear, the fields open, and the conditions were perfect to zoom. She has absolutely phenomenal recall, and we use these games to continue to keep the skills fresh and fun. The goofy looks are great, but her happy smiles after are the best! 🤩

This is the face of a dog who is NOT upset with her cooperative nail care practice! We are working to help her mama be able to do regular nail trims instead of the mutual stress of going to the vet. I’m looking forward to helping them through many more relaxed sessions in the future.

Zuli wanted to romp in the yard this afternoon, even after a full outing. She normally doesn’t like the heat, but she was ready to burn off some energy. What a good girl!

Zuli, Shelby, Blossom, and Jamie were four of today’s six dogs. We got in practical training on the road and, as always, enjoy tons of sniffing! The spring brings plenty of pollen and some of my client dog also experience allergies. Even so, getting outdoors makes everyone happy.
