Who wants to go to a horse show in Hawaii? 🙋‍♀️🌴

Andrea Deyoung and This Scene is Taken are leading the way for us by placing 21st in the Zone 2 Amateur Walk/Trot All-Around list with APHA! This means they're 21st in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Hawaii.

And that's not all! They also made the Honor Roll for Walk/Trot Western Pleasure. Way to go, Andrea and Krunch!

In 2013, AQHA introduced Ranch Riding, and in recent years, this discipline has exploded in popularity across associations! Many riders are coming from all-around events or even crossing over from reining to test their skills in this challenging class.

Ranch Riding showcases the versatility, attitude, and movement of a working horse, simulating a horse working outside the confines of an arena.

The class is judged on the horse's ability to perform required maneuvers like the extended trot and lope, stops, and lead changes, all with a forward working speed. Obstacles like dragging a log, opening a gate, and even a small jump keep the classes fun and engaging.

I'm so proud of Karen Enderson and Zipped On One Too Many "Cruz"! Karen homebred this 3-year-old filly by the incredible One And Only Asset, and she just completed the first ride on her. Cruz is already proving she's got the talent, mind, and versatility of her sire.✨

Karen has TWO incredible babies by OAOA - Cruz, out of Ultimately Zipped, and Zipped On Too Many "Finn," a 2-year-old out of Ultra Zipped.

We're so proud of Karen and can't wait to see what she and her fillies accomplish together! 💙💛

𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽?📸 Here's how to teach your horse to position themselves like a pro.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹: Imagine a perfectly balanced square. That's where you want your horse's feet to be – evenly spaced and underneath them.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝘁: Stand facing your horse's left side. To move their left hind leg, apply pressure on the lead shank's chain. Pull forward if the leg is behind the right hind, or push backward if it's in front. Release pressure the instant they move their foot.

"𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗮": Once a foot is in place, say "whoa" before adjusting another. This teaches your horse to hold the position.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝘁: To adjust a front foot, gently push your horse's head in the opposite direction to shift their weight. Then use the lead shank to position the foot as needed.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿: Patience, consistency, and clear communication are your best tools!
