FINALLY! Our first Mooncheek bred from our very own! 🥰🥰

We can now provide you information from our initial observations on how to differentiate Mooncheeks from Cinnamints.

Mooncheeks will have:
- a richer color provided by the Yellowsided gene.
- Yellowness throughout the body especially its sides which is not present on Cinnamints
- Pinker and lighter feet and beak
- Brighter peach hue on its belly

IT'S BREEDING SEASON AGAIN!

This has been a confusion ever since suncheeks came out. Some people are getting cinnamon dilutes as suncheeks because of their similarities.

Since I have the privilege of having both, let me share information BASED ON MY OBSERVATIONS.

Note that another KDF(Key Distinct Features) of Suncheeks are yellow sided but it's hard to get a picture for untamed subjects. You may refer to my previous post for the Canary-Yellow Sides below:

Feel free to share your observations as well 😄

How to know whether you have a Suncheek or a Cinnamon Dilute? 🧐

This is based on my observations so far and I don't claim this to be 100% correct.

All birds on the photos are bred by Feather Nest Aviary. Birds used on the comparisons are a high red suncheek and a high red cinnamon dilute both 1 month old.

These mutations normally gives confusion to some green cheek conure keepers.

Share this if this was able to help you 😁
