Jyothy's dear pet Ammu came to us with dragging left hind leg, and in serve pain. She was missing for couple days time, and returned like this. After stabilizing, pain management we imaged her ( X-ray DR). Ammu's Thigh bone was fractured ( Distal femoral physeal fracture- SH type 1). After stabilizing sugery was performed. ( Approached the distal femur from an incision on the craniolateral aspect of the stiffle joint. Reduced the fracture and stabilized using crossed pins)
Ammu was placed on protective bandages, and medicines. She was inpatient for a few days, and returned home.
Ammu is gradually walking back to her normal life. Postoperative care in veterinary orthopedics is quite challenging, but not an excuse though. Post Operative period is 4-6 weeks. Lets celebrate life ๐.
