It’s national happy hour day! There are plenty of ways to celebrate with your pets, with or without alcohol!

🐾 have a drink while you spend some quality time with your pet
🐕‍🦺 have a happy hour long walk! Exercise is great for people and pets
🐈 put your pets water in a fancier bowl or cup so they get a special happy hour experience
🦮 have a toast to all the wonderful pets out there

Happy Veteran’s Day! Did you know that service animals can help veterans to cope with PTSD from their time in service of the USA?

Dogs can be trained to help their owner recover from PTSD episodes and to recognize when the episodes might be starting. It’s so amazing that dogs can help people like that!

Have you ever wondered why some dogs will eat just about anything? Well, if someone said it was because they didn’t have a refined palate, that would be right!

Taste buds help us taste, obviously! Dogs typically have about 1,700 taste buds, and us humans typically have about 9,000! That means that dogs only have 19% of the taste buds that we do!

Just because they don’t have great taste doesn’t mean we can let them eat anything they want! Animal health and safety still matter!

Have you ever noticed that cats are REALLY flexible? They’re like yoga masters! But do you know why?

Cats have shoulders that are attached by muscle, not bone, so they have extra mobility there! 🐈

One day until Halloween! Let’s talk pet costume safety!

It can be so much fun to dress our furry friends up for Halloween! But we need to have the same amount of care as we do with other pet clothes or accessories.

🐾 make sure the clothes are comfortable! Not too loose, not too tight!

🪶 give them time to adjust! Your pets might not be ready to spend a lot of time in the costume right away, so let them get used to it first!

🦴 make sure any pet Halloween costumes don’t have any small beads, pompoms, or anything else that could come off and get eaten!

Around the fall, chrysanthemums get popular, but they’re dangerous for pets.
These plants are toxic to dogs, cats, and even horses!

Some of the signs that your pet might be suffering from a toxic reaction to chrysanthemums include:

Plants can be a great way to decorate your home, but a lot of common houseplants are toxic to pets!
