IMPACT Express bought crushed stone fornthe Datcha animal shelter last year but unfortunately the snow came before it could be delivered making it impossible to get to the shelter.
It has now been delivered. It will help relieve some of the muddy conditions making things easier and more pleasant for the dogs and the workers. 🥰🥰🥰

Boring stuff again. Budget breakdown and receipts

This does not include all the food I bought to feed the random street dogs while a drove around Moldova. Nor does it include several things I call gifts that are related to dogs but not specifically for IMPACT Express.

Total budget spent in Moldova $11,649.54

Car rental $919.73
(I used the car about 95% of time directly for helping animals so I am including it)

Gas 10,768.48 lei - $830.91

Vet bills 16,685 lei - $1287.44

Building materials 54,704.32 lei - $4,221.07
This included materials to build a wall and roof to create a new dog run at Datcha animal shelter , to build two brand new roofs over several kennels to better protect dogs, cement to fix major holes, crushed stone to help with muddy conditions and build a new kennel for a private person that takes care of dogs.

Wood for stove 10,000 lei - €771.61

Dog/ cat food - 31698.88 lei - $2445.93

Labour (no receipts) 15,200 lei $1,172.85

Total is $11,649.54
Or 150,962.32 Moldovan Lei.

In total IMPACT Express directly spent $25,513 to help animals of Ukraine, Romania and Moldova during this trip. Roughly $85,000 since start of war. . By directly buying food, supplies, vet bills and investing in the people and organizations that dedicate their time to helping animals.

I will have more updates in the next few days of the work that was done.

Boring part but update on Budget. I don't have all receipts but I have the main ones.
Breakdown so far in $CAD
Dog/Cat Food - $10,151
Hay - $1306
(Total for food - $11,457)

Diesel - $388 (I did not pay for much of the diesel)
Ferry - $205
Nova Poshta - $138 (shipping pallets of food)
(total travel cost - $731)

Truck Repairs - $773
Truck registration and insurance $903 (I helped get the new truck on the road)
(Total truck cost $1676)

Overall spent so far - $13,864
* I do not include any other costs, like flights, train, accommodation or per diems. This is my choice to be here.

We have lost time at the Romania/Ukraine border due to multiple days of bombing over the last couple weeks.

While we are stuck near Isaccea we decided to make best of our time waiting to if the border would be repaired soon. We met a couple of Gabor's friend who help refugees at the border. We went with them to bring some of our dog food to help the strays at the border.

I usually post payment updates on my GoFundMe but because I am using an international sim card it's a pain to access the account. So I will post the PayPal transfer here for what will be first truck load of cat/dog food we will bring to Ukraine. 1 pallet of cat food and 4 pallets of dog food.

Hey everyone there are many unscrupulous people out there. The following instagram site is a scam. It is very obscure and uses stolen images and videos.

They have contacted a friend of mine and lead them to believe they were in Odessa, Ukraine.

Even supplied a number from Ukraine of someone working with animals.

I recognized it as scam and have confirmed with my Ukrainian colleagues their information is fake. They have been reported to Instagram and PayPal.

If you are giving money to help animals in Ukraine please do your due diligence to ensure they are authentic.

I will be returning to Ukraine at the end of September. I arrive in Bucharest sept 30th and will be spending just over 3 weeks doing as many trips delivery and into Ukraine as possible.

Then I will go to Moldova and volunteer at the Datcha animal shelter for 3 1/2 weeks.

I will try to update while I am there.

I hope to purchase enough animal food while I am there to fill van up a couple times. And then assisting Gabor Petru in delivery aid from other groups.

Impact Express has helped facilitate another delivery going into Ukraine today. This was 1500kg donated by the group ROLDA in Galati ( https://rolda.org ). Heading to Mykolaiv. Also on board is supplies from our awesome colleagues Red Panda Romania. Quick update. IMPACT Express has delivered another 2500kg of dog food. The first drop was in Mykolaiv and our driver Gabor is currently in Kherson dropping off needed food due to the flooding. He is now trying to help rescue animals in the area. With the help of Red Panda helping procure the food and get drop off points in Kherson.

Druzi Poruch is the dedicated organization helping these dogs.

Since the article in the globe and mail only 9 days ago (https://www.theglobeandmail.com/world/article-ukraine-war-stray-dogs-pets/ ) donations have increased and we are almost able to send another shipment into Ukraine. I am working out logistics now. Hopefully in next couple weeks will will get a lot more food and supplies in.

Thanks so much to all that have contributed, given encouragement or help any animals in need.
