I heard a strange tiny voice today as I was rudely scrubbed clean and made to stand still for hair brushing. I’m apparently going somewhere special tomorrow to do what sounds like work.
A small voice from below, asking to share my shade.
But I didn’t have shade...was it my conscience talking to me?

Well, she’s done it. I have an appointment to get my cajones cut off. I don’t know what that means, I’m hoping this doesn’t mean a decrease in my grain...but Mom says it’s now or never to make babies on my own. So heyyyyy. How you doin?!

Than: Uh, Hay Lady? My Hooman? Are you punishing me for that whole baby business?

Me: Of course not! It's just time for you to be a big boy and start going to school.

Than: I don't know if you know this, but I'm a very big boy. I don't have to do school if I'm a big boy. This is boring. I'm wearing a dead animal on my back, it smells funny, and Mr. Keen won't let me talk to his ladies. AND he says I get shots today! This place sucks!

Me: How about a bath after your shots? Huh? A nice cool bath?

Than: 🤔 okay. I guess so. Can I have a cookie?

Me: If you stand there and learn to be patient, I'll give you TWO cookies.

Than: Patience. Patience. Paaaaaaayshents. Cool bath and cookies, I can do this. I can do this. Focus. (Looks at me) this still sucks.

So as I'm waiting for the trough to fill, this lovely young man came up to me and did the-
"Hey."

I stood there a moment and asked him

"Is there anything more beautiful than your face?"

If he could blush, I think this is the face.
"No, I don't think there is."

He's such a modest beast.
