Sadly there will not be a West Orange Farmers market this year. I'm in search of a new venue, but it doesn't look good.
I have 300 heads leafy greens (buttercrunch lettuce, kale, collard greens, swiss chard) growing in the indoor farm, over a hundred vegetable seedlings (tomato, pepper, jalapeno, cucumber), and live herbs growing in jars using the Kratky hydroponic method (basil, thyme, dill, lemon balm) that I need to find a home for.

One of the great things about lettuce is that it is edible and delicious at all stages of growth. These Lettuce Microgreens are just shy of qualifying as "baby lettuce."
CSA Customers will be be able to enjoy them in this weeks delivery.

Here is our little buddy "Snips" doing his part for our Aquaponic ecosystem. The Koi fish feed the microgreens, the microgreens clean the water, and "Snips" cleans up anything left behind. Snips also likes to chase the Koi around the tank, helping to keep them fit.

As you may know, I am a combat Veteran with deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have lost too many of my brothers in arms to talk about them all, so on this Memorial Day I would like to just talk about one of them.
This is my friend Doc Leblanc. We served together in Iraq in 2004. This is the memory of him that I like to hold on to. This was one small moment of joy in an otherwise horrible day. This was the type of person Doc was. More than once Doc saved my life with his humor and his smile ( not to mention the countless lives he saved as our platoon medic.) I truly owe him my life.
Doc lost the battle to his own demons after we returned home from Iraq. He spent his efforts helping everyone else, and he didn't leave enough in reserve to help himself.
Rest easy brother, you don't have to fight anymore.

Microgreens are delivered directly to your door within 12 hours of being harvested. You choose the container size (2 ounces or 6 ounces) and how often you would like them delivered, and we do the rest.
