I wanted to give Nalani and Mr Big a special post of their own. As I had posted just a few days in- we lost Mr Big… it happened quickly without time to see the vet.
Nalani was a bit different and at 4 weeks old seemed to develop a breathing issue.. Bri and I end up at the 24hr ER vet in Shrewsberry, of course in the middle of the night, and I really thought maybe aspiration and some pneumonia.. get some antibiotics and go home. After tests were run, our poor little girl had an enlarged heart that could not be repaired and while I ugly cried the entire time, the option was to put her to sleep so she would not suffer. Not at all what I expected to be doing in the middle of the night and all I could do was cry my eyes out 😞
I do highly recommend Mason Dixon if you ever need an emergency vet. They were just the best staff, completely understanding at me being a mess, actually cared for real and made her paw print 😭
I have been a breeder for almost 22 years and there is so much that comes with being a good breeder. My experience and knowledge gets me thru raising healthy happy babies~but losing any at any time is something that always hurts 😞
