Akira 2nd place with 198 points ans Bonnie 4th place with 193 points.

We are planning a litter of puppies after Alva and Banjo. Alva is now in her heat and if everything goes according to the plan, there will be puppies born at the end of May and they are ready to go to their new owners 8 weeks later. For the first 8 weeks, the puppies will be living in Gjerdrum, just outside Oslo.

Akira got 3rd prize at her debut in the hunting competition today. She found 7 of total 8 dummies. There were exercises both on land and in water. She found two dummies in the field and the last was difficult to find because she was searching too close to humom. So we have to practice greater distances. But we were a good team today and we can clearly see that Akira really loves to retrieve! The judge also commented that it really looks like she loves working and finding the dummy. 😊

We are practicing for the hunting competition coming up. 🐕
Golden retrievers, as the name suggests, were bred primarily to retrieve birds.
Some of the exercises in the beginner class involve teaching the dog to search over a larger area («felt»), for a real or simulated hunt, which is both fun and useful. The same applies to practicing long lines where you control the dog over long distances to a hidden game or exercises remembering where the bird or dummy fell («markering») on land or in water.

Last weekend Akira passed the qualification test in hunting✅ and this weekend she got 1st prize🥇and 2nd place 🥈in class 3 at the rallycompetition at Stavsøra☀️ 190 of 200 points, hurraaay!🤩

Although puppies are little bundles of energy, they usually sleep 18-20 hours a day. One minute your puppy may be a miniature tornado, and the next he’s fallen soundly asleep, almost mid-dash. Sleep is essential to healthy growth 😴
