Breeder Truth Day… The last few days I have done a lot of thinking about which direction I want my breeding program to go and what my vision is. I will admit that I am very new to the French Bulldog world. I have spent the last year and a half trying to learn as much as I possibly can and honestly, I still have a long way to go. But here is what I have learned for sure…You can add a specific DNA into your program in a breeding or two. Great structure can take generations. Years to get right. Unlike so many other breeders, I can admit that my Frenchies are not the “perfect specimen” of the breed. They can all use a tweek here or there in the next generation and my goal is to now breed for STRUCTURE FIRST. I will ask for health dna and to see pics from all angles of the studs I’m going to use or any puppy I am going to add to my program. This will now be NON NEGOTIABLE for me and if as a fellow breeder you don’t have the time to provide that, that’s ok. I can simply move on to one that does. I have learned many lessons in this journey the hard way and I will no longer settle for less than the best for my program.

So this might not seem like a big deal but if you are a breeder, you will understand. Three times last week, I drove 3 hrs round trip to my favorite repro vet for progesterone tests on my girl. Next week I will make another two. So between that and the $80 per test it costs, I figured there has to be an easier way. So I started researching home progesterone test and how to draw blood. This was the result on my VERY FIRST TRY! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I don’t think I was this proud since the last time I gave birth🤣 Now on to purchasing the very expensive unit🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

We have waited weeks for this special girl to arrive and today was the day!!! The Connick’s would like to announce the arrival of our new French Bulldog and Black Mamba daughter 🥰 Moxie! ❤️

This week all the puppies went to their new homes. It was a lot harder to say goodbye to these sweet babies than I thought it was going to be. I am SO happy with ever home I have chosen for them and look forward to all the updates to come❤️
